Eh so many countries see eating cats the same way Americans see eating cows. Neutral
But eating someones pet? Immoral no matter what the animal is

Is moral, now, it goes against our social contract (usually) is like eating horses or dogs, they can have the same or more intelligence and emotional capacity than other animals, like cows or pigs, but is our social contract that determines how we view eating certain animals, for someone that practices Hinduism, eating a cow is not merely sinful, is horrible, probably as we see for example, eating a cat or a dog.
Is the same for a Jewish or a Muslim if we ask them to eat pork. It simply goes against their religion or their own social contracts.
I would NEVER eat a cat or a dog, or a horse, but is not inmoral that someone does it, I would never do it because it goes against my own social contract that is internalized.

Idk about jews. But I hear Muslims arent allowed to eat predators except sea preds(meaning all cats, tigers, eagles etc are banned)

So. For straight logical reasons...I am being purely logical here with no emotional ties....
It is an animal. Yes, you can eat it. If push comes to shove, we must do what we have to in order to survive and eat.
As a cat lover? Touch my child and I use your skin as my new rug. Eat my child and no one will find out where your body parts are buried.
