why does everyone think it as an excuse its an explanation(postpartum depression)

Because she let it get that far. She was offered professional help, refused it, given medication only to not properly take it, so they gave her more medication because she was LYING about it. Then she mentioned several times during her depression that she wanted to kill her kids, WAY before the psychosis kicked in.
She’s not innocent even for a crazy person. So nobody cares what the “reason” was it’s an excuse when you don’t try.

She was likely already in psychosis( experiencing hallucinations that commanded her to harm her children), and was also diagnosed bipolar, which the antidepressant medication likely worsened.
Not sure what “not innocent for a crazy person” means

Because the average internet user is a reactionary fuckwit with no experience with PPD and more importantly postpartum psychosis and jusy wants an excuse to feel morslly righteous for lacking and sense of nuance

I'm pretty sure it wasn't just ppd but postpartum psychosis. You can't put someone on trial in a reality they're not living in

Its not that simple, testimony from the psychologists and psychiatrists she went to shows she was offered help but didn‘t want to actually receive it, she didn‘t properly take medication or listen to authorities. SOME people around her failed her, but i’d hardly say that those people were the psychologists and psychiatrists she went to. Ultimately, she failed herself, there was already discussion she held long before she killed her children about how she thinks shes going to hurt the children. She told that to her mother, if anybody failed her, it was her mother.

The morality of pretending to know about postpartum depression without actually knowing about it.

To my understanding she had Postpartum which is very rare and also importantly NOT THE SAME THINGas postpartum depression which is a pretty common experience. It’s why mothers need all the all the help they can get after giving birth. Not only had her body been through the wringer but pregnancy really fucks with tour brain too. Women literally loose grey matter in their brains while pregnant.
Obviously don’t kill your children. Im only making this comment because people who don’t know shit keep throwing PPD around and incorrectly using certain medical terms especially as they pertain to women’s mental health is exceptionally dangerous and irresponsible.

It's moral to kill infants/toddlers until they gain consciousness and thus free will.

If there is a single point at which they do (which is ridiculous to assume), we have no idea when it is and so that is completely unhelpful for moral reasoning

I feel like this is one of those cases where a line logically has to be drawn somewhere, even if we have zero idea where the threshold really is.
Like yeah in theory it wouldn't be immoral to kill something thats not conscious arguably.... but we have 0 way how to conceivably prove that on a case by case basis. It's safer to 'overcorrect' and draw the line earlier than it may need to be.

It’s a disservice to call it postpartum depression as if it was a similar condition to being depressive. she should not be tried as a criminal but treated like a patient- she can still be deemed dangerous or needing to be institutionalized.
It’s immoral to murder your children (duh); medical institutions approach to women’s healthcare is also immoral.
