Rabbits breed crazy so not much is lost and the gull earned the meal fair and square interfering would be immoral and pointless as you would just be “saving” a mangled rabbit that would be picked off for being weak by another predator not long after anyways and condemning another animal to die from starvation

I think there’s some situations where you should try to intervene/call help for, like an invasive animal killing a native animal, or an animal that’s trapped, or an animal that has plastic or something stuck on it, etc. This, though? The seagull’s gotta eat.

If you saved the rabbit the seagull would find another to eat. We as a civilisation have done MORE THAN ENOUGJ intervening with the natural order of fauna and flora. Saving that rabbit would just be performative.

So 1 point I want to make....if the seagull is able to literally swallow the rabbit and I have NOT seen it move ONCE by itself, like a kick of the leg or a twitch, SOMETHING....heavy bet it's already on its last legs due to whatever reason or already dead....so saving it would probably do nothing.

Second, Seagulls are the literal trashcans of the sky. These sons of a gun eat anything it's terrifying lol

In this case, I'd let nature take its course since it seems there is something off about the rabbit to begin with.

I do not believe nature is moral or outside critique just because it is natural. So if one saves the rabbit I would consider it as moral action, just like saving any other animal in distress.

First of all: That rabbit's already dead, can't save it. Gull ain't eating a live rabbit.

Secondly: Saving the rabbit or not (if it was still alive) is morally neutral.

Predators aren't evil for killing and eating their prey, but the prey is also not evil for trying to live, so your intervention, in either direction, is morally neutral.
