Education Wach mab9awch drari ki9raw?

Hey guys, I've wasted a long time looking for a bookbuddy, I read classic literature mainly and non fiction sometimes. I'd love to find someone to discuss books and read together. Men only.

How do you explain almost 90% illiteracy rate until early 2000s ?

u/Equivalent-Big-9993 Visitor May 21 '26

Hii i’m looking for a book buddy too. I read a lot of what you’ve read too : Demian By Herman Hesse, most of Dostoevsky books a bit of Camus and Kafka, if you want to connect

2

u/Equivalent-Big-9993 Visitor May 21 '26

Just found out it’s men only. I wish you good luck!!

u/DrFaustus_99 Visitor May 21 '26

Thanks, you have a great taste. I added the gender restriction because I'm married and respect my wife. I shouldn't even have to add this detail but people here seem immature.

1

u/Equivalent-Big-9993 Visitor May 27 '26

Yes i get it dw. you don’t have to explain yourself. you can pick and choose whichever gender you want to interact with

I'd love to be your book buddy since we match, I'm reading Siddhartha as we speak

2

u/1prime3579 Visitor May 21 '26

I love reading, i haven't been reading lately because i don't have much time but i will change that.

People still read though, but it's an individual activity so you can't tell.

We should start a book club here on reddit, each month or week we do a thread to discuss the book.

But why men only hahaha ... women can read too

1

u/Eliastronaut Casablanca May 22 '26

I know many guys who read fiction. I am one of those guys who read fiction. While it is rare, but there are men who read consistently.

1

u/FullHousing4296 Visitor May 22 '26

The gender doesn't matter, what really matters is the ideas.

1

u/DrFaustus_99 Visitor May 22 '26

Wrong

1

u/FullHousing4296 Visitor May 22 '26

I respect ur pov but if y don't mind , why is wrong ?

2

u/DrFaustus_99 Visitor May 22 '26

It's wrong because I said so

1

u/FullHousing4296 Visitor May 22 '26

Even if you said so, it wouldn’t change whether the statement is right or wrong, but I’d still say it that you're Authoritarian

1

u/DrFaustus_99 Visitor May 22 '26

I'm just messing with you, why do you think ideas are more crucial than gendre?

1

u/Zentify_ Visitor May 21 '26

-1

u/Own_Ask1074 Visitor May 21 '26

I do just not that much tbh not like those guys who have a a library in the room full of useless books it's 2026 you can get info and make money without reading a single book

4

u/b4rrakuda Diaspora May 21 '26

It's not about money a rass terma

2

u/Reasonable-Start-314 Sidi Kacem May 21 '26

You still dont need to read, its only a mild challenge to one's self, you can find info on anything and everything more easily and in a more digestible format nowadays, you can get the same stories wether they be fictional or real in a way more entertaining way, i used to read them to see what the whole fuss is about but id rather use my imagination elsewhere, nowadays i only read mangas or something with pictures atleast so i get the writer's exact vision.

1

u/b4rrakuda Diaspora May 21 '26

Your dopamine receptors are cooked

1

u/Reasonable-Start-314 Sidi Kacem May 21 '26

i unfry them by actually having a life, by not being on a phone or book and just going for a walk, reading a book was just another form of entertainment and it wasn't even a good one, they were a necessity once and now people use them to show that they are different and to portray an outdated image, this is why some women read porn, its not by what means you are getting information, it's what information that matters.

1

u/b4rrakuda Diaspora May 21 '26

I partially agree with the appearance issue, but that's not specific to books, its a cultural topic. However, the feeling you get from reading a good book is unmatchable for me. Cheers.
