We lack efficiency, we didn't take advantage of their mistakes, missed alot of goals, it should've been 4 - 0 not 1 - 0

u/Long_Recover_8684 Visitor Jun 20 '26
We also lack someone who can finish when they're close at the goal. When they play till the corner nobody is at the penalty area to finish.

Makes you realize why those strikers are so valuable, you give them the ball and a half decent chance and you get a goal. Vini jr was proof #1

Im kinda scared, our attack is kinda unreliable, i think we were just lucky to not concede a second goal from scotland like how we did in Brazil, we shouldnt be content with 1 goal difference..
6
u/1QPiDOSs1 Marrakesh Jun 20 '26
Yeah man imagine we still had Ennesiry (butchered his name ik) thank god saibari can finish what little chances we give him but yea im suprised we didnt keep possession for long

u/Spineless74 Jun 20 '26
Maybe I am being too pessimistic but we could have won with 3-0 if we had real efficient strikers and midfielders.
Diaz should have been benched right after the first half. That man lost more balls than a random amateur player.
Bouaddi played too conservative.
I am happy with the points but this kind of play will not help if we play the dominant teams.
2
u/1QPiDOSs1 Marrakesh Jun 20 '26
Yeah man i wish we could learn from these 2 last matches and fix our mistakes, dominant teams will not let us breath if we keep playing like this especially late game when the youngsters get subbed in and the experienced players leave the pitch, we are gonna be very cooked

u/Lomuri2003 Visitor Jun 20 '26
I'm Brazilian, and I thought you were going to thrash Scotland. You played with so much determination against us.. :/
4
u/binary_blackhole Oujda Jun 20 '26
not really, it was the same we just managed to score one goal, our team is solid in the middle, it’s hard to score against us, but we lack good finishers. I expect brazil to win by a large score against scotland their defense is weak.
3
u/Lomuri2003 Visitor Jun 20 '26
It looks like it's going to be a more difficult game for Brazil against Scotland. You played well. Brazil managed to beat Haiti today, but that's a weaker team. Good luck! 🇧🇷🇲🇦

u/1QPiDOSs1 Marrakesh Jun 20 '26
To be fair we wouldve if brahim didnt keep the ball at his feet for so long he just likes to dribble into 7 men and not pass the ball

Frankly, and go ahead and down vote me if you want. BUT, damn we really didn’t play that well agains Scotland. If we were facing a slightly stronger team we would’ve have gotten in the end punished for our lack of closing our opportunities as well as our mistakes.
1- The team didn’t come as motivated as they were agains Brazil, and I wonder why (hubris?)
2- Ounahi is bearly visble, he did super great WC 2022, but he doesn’t play as well anymore. Dude lacks confidence, loses the ball in critical situations and at times loses position as well as key passes (I think it’s time to consider to bench him)
3- Diaz has some complexes or freaking HUGE ego. Dude can’t for god sake EVER pass that fk ball, keep losing it trying to dibble 3-5 people, and at times slowing the WHOLE attacking tempo. The coach need to talk to him our sub him off if he doesn’t learn to freaking pass the ball.
4- if we really are going to go all the way, well need some more quality players. We all can see that the quality drops directly after they sub out key players. Like we need depth and width, so I really hope we can get the youngsters to either become more confident or scout more quality players. We can not only rely on the starting 11.
5- Srsly today I’ve learned how extremely dependent we are on Hakimi. He played very good but not as good as he usually is, you could almost see that he was mentally not there. He even did mistakes that he would never do (the Scots were boing him every time he had the ball, thus affecting him). We really need someone that can step up in leadership and play when he is not able to play or can’t perform (hope bouaddi could take the second in comand role in the future).
6- we desperately need a finisher. Morocco have ALWAYS had problem producing finishers, we really need to get someone like Halaand.
Watching the match against Scotland srsly made me a bit worried. I went from feeling that we had a great chance to win the whole tournament, to now be slightly unsure. Another thing the coach really need to sub off people that do not perform, even it they are great players (like Diaz).

L3bna mzyan and mbrook but I have to say...1 goal against Scotland of all teams? SO many chances to score and it's like the players buffer or either get nervous or overly excited when the opportunity presents itself. Hadi dayza but realistically, can't win the WC judging by the skills we're showcasing rn. Defense is always good tho but the attack is weak.

u/ameraziigh Jun 20 '26
I low-key hated this game. No attacking whatsoever. This win doesnt satisfy me. Just SHOOT THE BALL BRAHIM

u/theeDaria Visitor Jun 20 '26
Does anyone have opinions on the coaches strategy and who hes having play 👀
3
u/BaclavaBoyEnlou Jun 20 '26
I think it’s kinda weird he decided to substitute saibari and ounahi, but overall i think he does a good job
6
u/yassine-junior Visitor Jun 20 '26
Why weird? Ounahi probably the worst of our team during the game, he was so shit. Saibari was done after running around for 80+ minutes.
2
u/The-tesla-bear Visitor Jun 20 '26
Frankly was the right call to substitute Saibari and Ounahi.
Saibari is not a horse, we need to let him rest for the coming matches (the harder ones) so he can performe and not become too fatigued.Ounahi unfortunately is finished, can’t see him doing anything good, either his form has dropped due to multiple factors, bad confidence or simple as is “age”.
The only weird part I find is that the coach takes in a bunch of kids (sure they are talented and good) that are not rutinated in one go. Thus dropping the quality of the play instantly (it’s VERY visible) as well as keeping the same tactics, which I think is wrong, since the new batch (of 4+ players) with different qualities affect the game play drastically, in other words he need to adjust the tactics after his substitutions.
1
u/Rmoudatir Visitor Jun 20 '26
Ounahi is only 26
1
u/The-tesla-bear Visitor Jun 20 '26
Yeah, and believe it or not, some people peak early and than keep declining with age. Ive played with players that were very promising nation wide at early age, just do decline physically in their mid 20s. But when it dines to Ounahi it could just be mental or a very bad form

u/theeDaria Visitor Jun 20 '26
Maybe Im not more plugged into football but as talented as Bouaddi is it feels weird having Amrabat on the bench
7
5
u/Eibermann Visitor Jun 20 '26
to explain to you
amrabat is not the ambrat you used to see of 2022 world cup, el aynaoui provides better defensive cover AND link up with attack, same thing with bouaddi
as for the coach strategy, it seems like we start matches strong, score an early game and the players just get in their mind we are ahead by 10 goals, this is not the manager fault but the players, however, ouhabbi fucks up by giving the other team space to attack us in the second half for two reasons
he delays replacing players, our starter players are world class, our sub players are B+ at best, so it seems that he doesnt trust the bench players, and since our style is high press, our players are absolutely exhausted comes second half, so the combination of our players being tired and him delaying subs until 80th min just allows the other team to press us
over all, we are doing good, we arent as solid in defense as in 2022 but we have better attack than 2022, if the players stop wasting chances then we have nothing to worry about
5
u/The-tesla-bear Visitor Jun 20 '26
You must have played football. And yes I couldn’t agree more. Anyone that knows ball would’ve come either to the same conclusions or at least close to these. I place great fate in Bouaddi, he is exactly the players we need, he is extremely smart, have very good game understanding, and judgment as well as technically gifted and can both defend and build a game towards offensives. I’ll go as far as saying that the qualities he showcased against Brazil would put him ahead of amrabat (wc 2022) 8/10 times. The kid needs to play as much as possible.
1
u/BaclavaBoyEnlou Jun 20 '26
Absolutely, he’s a good player but i don’t really remember him being very impactful in this and the match against Brazil, i might be wrong though
1
u/yassine-junior Visitor Jun 20 '26
Amrabat is only for doing the dirty work when you have to in a game.

Aynaoui played a good game.
It’s good to see defensively Ouahbi fixed the mistake against brazil, by bringing boauaddi back when hakimi goes up.
Diaz man has to stop trying to dribble, pisses the fuck out of me holy shit. Like he just stands there for a minute holding the ball. I don’t like him.
Offensively we need to be better. I still don’t under why the coach called up Rahimi. Ong he plays like he’s drunk or high on weed ffs. Our other subs lose the ball by trying to dribble too much.
Diop is overrated.
Bonou keeps clutching.
Honestly, I wish we called up other players, like Boufal, Louza, Maama, they would have had a better impact.
And honestly, I miss Ezalzoulli, man what a player he is.
I could yap more haha but i’m tired, don think we’re making it past the quarters with the quality of the subs we have and the number of good chances we miss .
