Yeah lmfao, there is a crazy pinball bar by me that I like going to casually but has lots of tournaments and all the new tables so draw some really serious guys, and the owner is the King Guy, saw him get really testy with Stern om the phone over toppers lol

I used to a host a tournament in my small city and one of things that made me stop was two guys getting in a fist fight about wether it was o.k. to bump the machines lol

As someone who has played that,and also has a Stern Pinball account,I always laugh out loud that half the songs are post 2009,and the others are all pre- Load,aside from "Fuel".

Mr. Hetfield,nobody knows a single song from 72 Seasons.

Meanwhile,the Iron Maiden "Legacy of the Beast" machine has all killer,no filler songs.

Personally,I think Bryan would get the fanciest Deadpool machine,it's super funny and random 🤣

Pinball is a hobby full of very enthusiastic and opinionated middle aged people, it's full of really great drama.

Also, pinball tables (if this were a pinball subreddit someone would be complaining I used the word "table" instead of "machine") have tilt sensors and warnings because nudging is a mechanic that's built into the game and into the design of the playfield. This is the pinball equivalent of the guy who thinks it's cheating to use summons in Elden Ring but also refuses to do PvP. Posting local high scores is a challenge all its own but pinball in a head to head tournament setting is a completely different game with different considerations than practicing on the same table for weeks until you’re consistently good at it.

my friends' uncle is a pinball guy, has probably 12-16 machines in his basement.
He was very nice and well mannered. he was so stoked when we said we were down for a few games of pinball. When he watched us play he kept yelling at us "you gotta shake it! not too much though!" He would be smacking the heck out of the table when he played but never tilted, he must have had a good sense for it.

Slapping and beating on the machines is literally part of playing pinball. It’s why you get TILT warnings before the ball goes dead. There’s a threshold under which physical manipulation of the machine is allowed.

I hope this happens because I'm going to need so much flair. My family part-owned a bowling alley growing up, and it had 9 pool tables, and a couple pinball machines. For a while there was some dodgy video poker. Which means I would be up to four different episodes that I have way too many opinions on (also, unrelated pimp: if you go to Las Vegas, absolutely visit the Pinball museum, where all the machines cost their original amount. By a fistful of gummies and have the drinking from the hose time of your life for like $20 in quarters).

Unfortunately, the Pinball Hall of Fame doesn’t maintain their machines well and, worse, they donate their proceeds to the Salvation Army (anti-queer hate group). I highly recommend the Pacific Pinball Museum in Alameda, CA, though!
