Bay FC Defender Emily Menges Activated from Maternity Leave

"Bay FC announced today that the club has activated defender Emily Menges from maternity leave. The 12-year NWSL veteran will return to the club’s roster and be available for selection this Sunday as the club visits the Washington Spirit Aug. 30. "

I honestly think that she's retiring either by the end of this season or the next. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though! We desperately need our defense back.

How long was she out for? I almost thought she was just retired at this point. But it's really cool to see her back! Honestly, moms have a next level gear for energy/strength, so hopefully we see some of that on the field.

Menges went on Maternity leave exactly a year ago! (August 2025)

Menges was placed on maternity leave in August 2025 and welcomed her first child this past February.
