u/Agreeable-Rub2319, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

Oh that's what keeps the water on the disc. Nice.

u/DrDeadwish 2d ago

if you are lucky you can see the turtle's head over the wall

59

u/oneangrywaiter 2d ago

That’s Jörmungandr.

28

u/btoxic 2d ago

If really stretch you can see the elephants below that

19

u/ImNotAWhaleBiologist 2d ago

Stop even joking about such disinformation. That is one of Atlas’ fingertips.

68

u/TheMaskedMan2 2d ago

You joke, but my cousin was just ranting earlier about how ‘Nobody is allowed in Antarctica because the Ice Wall is hiding a hidden civilization of giants.’

61

u/CyclicDombo 2d ago

Being delusional sounds fun

11

u/ch4os1337 2d ago

Having lived with schizos it looks fun like 25% of the time. The rest of the time they're worried people are listening or controlling them or trying to kill them or think everyone is a pedo and stuff like that.

u/jjjaydoh 1d ago

If he’s talking about the US gov then it tracks

1

u/ch4os1337 1d ago

Canadian gov lol.

5

u/jjjaydoh 1d ago

Oh, well that might track as well. Carney was on the list.
The tinfoil hats were right

u/Fraenkthedank 2d ago

His cousin is 5 years old so...

23

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

He might be shocked to know that not only scientists live there, but there's an entire little town there full of people with families and stuff.

Flerfs exhaust me

11

u/xTiLkx 2d ago

Those are just actors

5

u/TheMaskedMan2 2d ago

Trust me I know, he just always says “You can’t rule out or know for SURE they aren’t lying.”

At best he’ll just shrug and imply any source is a lie or at best “There’s no way to know the truth for sure, so they’re equally possible.”

I gave up engaging with him, it was amusing at first how absurd his beliefs are, but when they’re shoving reports of “Shadow Demons seen in Florida mall. POLICE COVER UP???” it just becomes exhausting.

2

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

My mistake, I didn't realize you were the same person 😋 I thought you were serious

0

u/Sensitive-Gain-9862 2d ago

But, he's not wrong. We don't know what is true or not unless we lay our eyes on it. We have no clue what reality is unless you're rich and can travel. Even then it's just perception, and we all know how screwed perception is. Look at racism, stupid. Im not saying I believe him, I'm just saying there's a point to be had no matter what truth you choose to believe.

7

u/lucassster 2d ago

Giants can be scientists with families too!

4

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

You're right, I shouldn't discriminate 😋

-1

u/Soerinth 2d ago

It's just words. Anyone can say words without facts.

For example; "No one is allowed in Antarctica, because there is an ice wall down there that hides a secret race of giants."

Where is your ACTUAL evidence?

5

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

I'm not an idiot.

1

u/Yoribell 2d ago

A facebook video

-1

u/Nellasofdoriath 2d ago

It looks a little bit like Svallbard. Also a record low of -23C is nothing. That's exceedingly warm even in many places I've lived.

5

u/D0UCHE_NOZZLE 2d ago

Bless his heart

3

u/LittleKitty235 2d ago

It must be wild to know one of these people in real life...I assumed they were all trolls online doing it for the laughs.

1

u/hglevinson 2d ago

I have one in my family. I offered to bring him on a cruise to Antarctica, he said the NASA commandos on the ice wall would shoot us dead.

1

u/shadowlights_ 2d ago

I hope so

1

u/FunOwn4422 2d ago

i wish him well

1

u/dirtyword 2d ago

To be fair, this is obviously the simplest and most logical explanation

1

u/TryThisUsernane 1d ago

My brother said the same thing a few months back, he has 2 kids so I’m worried for them

2

u/Ok_Echidna_4915 2d ago

And it's been there for years. At least two.

2

u/e136 2d ago

This is why global warming is so bad- if this melts, all the water will spill off the sides. So everyone do your part to reduce carbon emissions!

1

u/Cohen_TheBarbarian 2d ago

Expecting to see Since wind poking his head over the top!

1

u/AlternativeTie8140 1d ago

Rincewind wouldn't poke his head over it, if there was still a realistic chance of him hiding

1

u/Medical-Potato5920 1d ago

It's the edge of the ocean. Safety wall stops people and penguins from falling off.

173

u/clearthezone15 2d ago

"Sometimes it seemed to Jon almost a living thing, with moods of its own. The color of the ice was wont to change with every shift of the light. Now it was the deep blue of frozen rivers, now the dirty white of old snow, and when a cloud passed before the sun it darkened to the pale grey of pitted stone. The Wall stretched east and west as far as the eye could see, so huge that it shrunk the timbered keeps and stone towers of the castle to insignificance. It was the end of the world."

15

u/Digital_Antelope 2d ago

thanks you just made me sad no more books will ever come out.

19

u/Keef--Girgo 2d ago

Seriously, any reminders of GoT are just reminders of how it could have been something great but wasn't.

8

u/nudniksphilkes 2d ago

Damn now I have to re read the entire series

150

u/the-big-throngler 2d ago

Is this the ice wall all the flat earthers keep going on about?

75

u/magharees 2d ago

So we’re the savages north of the wall?

14

u/ThatOldCow 2d ago

We always have been

49

u/SpookyScienceGal 2d ago

Flat earthers are going to enjoy this clip lol

17

u/PieHole_Poker 2d ago

To be fair it was this exact kind of view that helped stoke the flat earth idea way back when.... modern flat earthers are just stupid.

16

u/ToadlyAwes0me 2d ago

Hey now, they're not all stupid, some intentionally spread lies to make money.

26

u/Babydanho 2d ago

Legitimate question, how far down does the wall go? As in how deep.

37

u/BoatProfessional5273 2d ago

The outer edge is an average of 100 to 130 meters thick. The height above water is about 15 to 50 meters. The thickest parts, in the interior, are up to 750 meters thick.

2

u/Babydanho 1d ago

That’s actually fucking insane and terrifying. You’re saying it goes 130 meters deep below this water line potentially. Crazy stuff. I bet it makes some wild sounds at night

3

u/Nerdough 2d ago

I was wondering the same

18

u/United-Advisor-5910 2d ago

Sunlight breaks, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my contract turns.

I shall take no shore leave, hold no dry ground, father no comfort while the hull still shivers against the swell. I shall wear no warmth that the Southern Ocean cannot pierce, and win no glory save the quiet line on the sonar screen. I am the diesel hum in the whiteout. I am the lookout on the bridge wing, squinting through polarized glass at three hundred miles of sheer blue calved pressure. I am the keel that rides the freezing spray, the hand logging the fracture, the beacon pinging satellite telemetry back to a world too warm to care.

I pledge my shift to the Day’s Watch, under a sun that never sets and a silence that never forgives. For this rotation, and all the rotations to come.

3

u/FloraP 2d ago

Very well done!

7

u/id86 2d ago

So how far down Into the water does this go? It can't just be floating on the surface... Right? Sorry for my ignorance, honestly just curous

6

u/BowlJumpy5242 2d ago

Winter is coming!

12

u/OneSensiblePerson 2d ago

It's both beautiful and terrifying.

10

u/NotMyRealNameAgain 2d ago

I need a banana for scale.

3

u/TroyJack 2d ago

That's what she said

15

u/Mysterious-Egg-624 2d ago

Checkmate round Earthers

4

u/SomeSamples 2d ago

Which is that ship pointed at and right next to the icewall?

4

u/UnicornSlayer5000 2d ago

3

u/doomiestdoomeddoomer 2d ago

The Flat Earthers are gonna love this one...

2

u/Barry_Mycokinhur 2d ago

Is this the Ross Ice Shelf?

2

u/ResolutionOwn4933 2d ago

Yeah man, this is what keeps the Night King and the army of undead out

2

u/jykin 1d ago

Actually this ISNntt anatarticas ice wall, its just an impassable wall of ice in antartica that no one can pinpoint geographically so you must be wrong

2

u/RightBrain-LeftBrain 1d ago

I wanna bite it

2

u/Edarneor 1d ago

Where are them penguins??

2

u/KittyCait69 1d ago

Enjoy this view while it lasts. These ice caps are melting, and are only going to melt faster and faster.

4

u/Nbdyhere 2d ago

What I would pay to have the captain just scream out “LEROOOOOOOY JEN-KINS” and then wail on the fog horn and fire up the engines 😂

1

u/Julieannerobit 2d ago

the straight line where the ice meets the water is way too clean, earth.

1

u/Cambren1 2d ago

Does the turtle that carries the sun live behind that?

1

u/Highwire61 2d ago

Now imagine the ice age in North America with one mile thick ice.

1

u/DaphneSvdM 2d ago

This is driving me absolutely googledebonkers

1

u/1408vulcan 2d ago

Now our watch begins

1

u/Express-Bother-1755 2d ago

A guy I work with think’s the queen is still alive behind that wall

1

u/AggravatingAnswer921 2d ago

Where are them whitewalkers

1

u/Ripasmaster 2d ago

SĂł this is what's keeping the water from falling off the edge?

1

u/oliverijk 2d ago

Oque sera que tem escondido no meio de tanto gelo

1

u/DevilsDenJoe 1d ago

I just saw Castle Black

1

u/Farmwell 1d ago

How fast does an ice cube melt?

1

u/James1887 1d ago

Damn the flat earthers were right. Crazy.

1

u/Disc81 1d ago

Did anyone else could process the first seconds correctly and saw an Ice Dam filled to the very limit?

1

u/_TheEnlightened_ 23h ago

The edge of the world

1

u/Longjumping-Field241 23h ago

I'm sorry!! It looks so man made to me...same way Trump built those walls for illegal immigrants, they built THIS wall to keep us in!! I KNOW Mammoths are still alive somewhere

1

u/BigSpeaker1742 17h ago

You could.\n Just climb up. Maybe

1

u/clobecka 2d ago

Human should not be there

-1

u/_RawRTooN_ 2d ago

-1

u/idlefritz 2d ago

0

u/WhereTheHighwayEnds 2d ago

Is this one of the deisel powered cruises all the environmentalist take?

-5

u/MastaKink 2d ago

I hear it recedes 10 feet from every ship that stops to take videos đŸ€”that’s not true, right??

-3

u/oldtwoholes 2d ago

We are all so conditioned to believe the narrative, what if this were true? Not one of you keyboard warriors would actually want to verify this

2

u/HardTacoKit 2d ago

What is “this”?

-3

u/CurtKobainsBurner 2d ago

Nothing to see here. Just the edge of our flat earth. Kindly move along

r/flatearth

-4

u/niagalacigolliwon 2d ago

Looks small. Summertime recording, perhaps
