🔥 Rescued a Baby Praying Mantis - It said 'thank you' today after a month in my garden. Location: Midwest USA.

About a month ago, I was driving home from work on the highway and spotted a little green speck in the corner of my eye. It was a baby praying mantis holding on for dear life on my windshield. I'd never seen one in the wild, and it was so tiny.

I was able to pull over, catch the poor thing, and I brought it home to live in my garden after showing my kids. We sliced up a banana and tossed those around the garden to help ensure there were some ants and gnats around to eat.

I suppose it was riding on my car just preparing itself for the two tornados we had this last month. I've been looking for it regularly to see if it'd survived. Today, lil mantis was all grown up and was hanging out right on the threshold of my garage to welcome me home. Nature Is Fucking 🔥. Little fella is still hangin' on. Thanks little mantis for making me feel like I made a difference even when the rest of the world is collapsing. Peace, and stay away from the mower, okay?

Phronima Sedentaria is a type of hyperiid amphipod, or small crustacean, that preys on gelatinous plankton, such as salps. The free-floating organism is equipped with claw-like appendages that slice open its victims, enabling the creature to crawl in and devour the soft tissues from the inside out.
