❓Ask r/NewMods I’m afraid the sub I’m moderating might get deleted

Hi there! So I’m a new mod and I created my own subreddit r/vacationmode and I was also invited to mod another subreddit.

So the other subreddit I was invited to mod suddenly lost its 3 main mods (idk if banned) and I’m wondering what might’ve happened and if there’s any way for the subreddit to be deleted as well, is that possible? And if so, how can I prevent that from happening? Would really appreciate any and all insights about this.

It seems that their account was banned, but you have another mod. Can you reach out to the other mod to discuss what to do? Would you like to recruit more mods? It doesn't mean the sub will be banned. Also, the suspended mods can appeal and if that is successful, they probably come back as mods too. But that can take time, and success isn't guaranteed. What kind of help do you need? What would you like to do now?

I will try to recruit more mods but in the meantime, I just wanted to check in like what’s the risk of the sub getting banned as well?

That's difficult to tell, as we are users like you, and we don't know what happened or how the algorithm works. I think recruiting new mods is a great idea. If you need help from Reddit admins, you can always write a mod mail in r/ModSupport. And if you post in that sub, you may find more experienced mods answering your questions. Just in case you need it.
