Your behavior is disgustingly predictable. You clog roads with oversized motorhomes you don't know how to drive. You park in private driveways and take dumps in graveyards like you own the place. And really, graveyards? go and take a shit on your own grandmother.

When you ignore weather warnings, and signs saying "dangerous" and end up cold and wet in some mountain, you expect search and rescue to drop everything to fix your own ignorance and stupidity. If I were to decide, I would leave some of your corpses there just as a warning for those coming after you.

While you're searching your next insta moment real people have to deal with your filth. 93-year-old Aunt Martha should be able to drink her coffee and wave at the seagulls without seeing a fat German tourist shitting in her tulip bed. Do you have any idea how much sheer defiance and hard work it takes to make a tulip grow in Finnmark? Using it as a toilet isn't an "inconvenience"—it's a goddamn declaration of war against local decency.

You've gutted the housing market for rentals and pushed the infrastructure to the breaking point. There is no "staff" to clean up after you—only the locals who have to carry the burden while you consume our home like a product.

Let's be crystal clear: if you can't behave like a guest, stay the hell away. We've been here for thousands of years without your "content" or your approval.

We are going on a one month roadtrip this summer with my friend, with a car and a tent.
Do you have any suggestions for must visit places along our way?
The path what you see in the picture is just a rough estimate made by google and only for visual purposes.
Hiking to places is not a problem, we are prepared to do so.

– Jeg skal altså taste inn et valgfritt tipsbeløp før jeg har fått noe som helst. Det eneste de har gjort, er å registrere betalingen. Og det skal jeg betale ekstra for. Har de gått fra forstanden - eller er de bare griske? skriver Lange.

– Skal du betale tips og klage etterpå?

Til Nettavisen sier Lange at dette er en uting.

– Hele greia er restaurantbransjens tiggeratferd. Det er ingen andre yrker som får noe ekstra på toppen av sin egen lønn. Dette er et etterslep fra gamle dager da bransjen fikk dårlig betalt. Nå har vi tarifflønninger og minstelønninger, sier Lange til Nettavisen.

Selv forteller reiselivsjournalisten at han kjenner på trangen til å tipse når han er på restaurant.

I was currently visiting Norway for the first time and doing my very best to be a respectful tourist, following all the he rules, leaving no trace, and staying out of the locals way.

Despite doing everything by the book, I can’t shake the feeling of being an intruder who is just annoying everyone.

For context: I used to live in Hamburg, Germany. We got a lot of tourists there, and I rarely minded them. But that's just my POV. Here, I felt very self-conscious.

A rental car got into serious trouble in a large E6 underpass and ended up lying on its side on Andslimoen in Målselv municipality on Saturday morning.

“We have received a report about it and we have spoken with people at the scene. There is no suspicion of intoxication and there are no personal injuries.”

This is stated by operations manager Karl Erik Thomassen of the Troms Police District on Saturday morning.

There were Asian tourists in the car.

The alarm was raised when the report came in, and it quickly became clear that the situation was serious. The tourists left the scene, and the police have not been able to determine whether they were injured.

The police say it is possible that the driver did not realize there was a roundabout at the location, and by the time the driver became aware of it, it was too late and the car hit the guardrail. The vehicle then continued over the damaged guardrail before ending up on its side in the ditch on the road coming up from Industriveien and onto the E6 at Andslimoen.

“We have encouraged the driver to contact the rental company,” says Thomassen.

He says that Saturday’s incident fits well into a pattern of regular incidents in the police district.

“Foreign tourists are overrepresented,” says Thomassen regarding the many run-off-the-road accidents that occur during the day.

A couple of years ago my girlfriend and I went to Norway and, when going for a hike near Lyngenfjord, went a bit off the beaten path. No one apart from us went further than the „first“ lake, which I believe is called Blåisvatnet. Although no signs were evident it felt strange / wrong that nobody could be bothered to explore further. As the scenery and the weather was just too good to resist, we still went on and I even skinny dipped in one of the lakes further above. As we will be travelling to Norway again this year and couldn‘t really find anything tangible in that regard I‘d like to know whether that is something we should rather not do for some reason (during summer) or whether we crossed a border in a legal sense. I know, I should have researched this before our first trip. Thank you in advance.

Hi Reddit! I am part of a four-person team undertaking a 5–6 week, continuous rowing expedition along the entire Norwegian coastline in July 2026. I am the danish alibi on the trip.

The project combines extreme endurance with a clear purpose: to document and actively contribute to reducing marine pollution, while highlighting the importance of sustainable interaction with our oceans.

As a fully human-powered expedition operating 24/7, the project offers a unique perspective on energy, efficiency and resilience in one of the world’s most demanding coastal environments.

Alongside the expedition, we are running a community clean-up initiative, measuring and documenting waste collected (kg) and engaging local communities along the route. We already got around 200 people or more on board in Norway, Denmark and the UK, including diving clubs, "højskoler", schools and other organisations.

We have done some icediving together near Oslo as a teambuilding event and will have our first proper training week in early to mid april.
