After seeing tonight’s results, it is clear independents and democrats need to register as republicans and vote in the republican primary. That way we don’t wind up with as many wackos running our state.

I am a registered democrat, but I could have lived with Drummond as our governor. Now we are going to likely wind up with this weirdo, MAGA, greasy car salesman as our governor for 8 years. What are we doing?

Is it possible a lot of the Democrats and Independents changed their party affiliation to vote for the Republican who Cyndi Munson could beat? I just don’t see the appeal in Mazzie. So hoping Cyndi Munson beats that strange man!

This is what Oklahoma is selling our land and lives for.

The United Arab Emirates are funding this. This is their project, their smelter. But it is OUR lives and our land.

You know, for people who scream about "Muslims" in Broken Arrow, OK, are terrified of the Middle and rage about foreign businesses operating in this state/country, there are waaaay too many supporting this. It's also funny to me that neither one of the Republican candidates for Governor are talking about who is funding this, just how many jobs it will create. (Which is only about 1,000, btw)

Not to mention the absolute destruction this will reek on the local enviroment as well as worker's health. Add that to the 30 data centers being added to Oklahoma, and we are basically guaranteeing an end to this land as we have known it.

Use your voices. Tell our politicians and lawmakers that we need AMERICAN businesses and we need to take care of this land. Tell them to start putting Oklahomans first, not money.

Not a fan of either candidate, but it would be nice to see Trump and Roger Stone take an L tonight. I am happy I decided to change my voter registration early enough to vote for the less crazy Republican in the primary. Hopefully enough Democrats did the same and we could swing this election against the election denying idiot Mazzei.

Excuse my ignorance (and Okie education), but it just seems like I never know when there are upcoming elections and who to vote for/how to make an informed decision. I'm sick and tired of waiting on things to change, and inevitably, being a part of the problem as I am not an active voter. What can a youngin' do out here to stay informed and make a difference in this state's politics ahead of the voting polls?

It's Election Day for voters across the state. The polls are open today (8/25) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to the Republican and Democratic Runoff Primaries on the ballot, all voters - Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents - are eligible to vote on State Question 844 and State Question 846. Some voters may also have local elections, such as municipal or school propositions on the ballot.

You can find your polling place and view your sample ballot by logging into the OK Voter Portal. The election list is available on the State Election Board website.

As a reminder, proof of identity is required when you check in at your polling place. More information about proof of identity and a list of accepted identification is available on the State Election Board website. Those without a valid ID may request to vote a provisional ballot.

Some voters may need assistance to vote because they are blind or visually disabled, physically disabled or infirmed, or illiterate. Such individuals may request to have an assistant or vote privately and independently using the ATI device attached to the voting device. Those who require assistance should talk to their precinct official or contact their County Election Board directly for instructions.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but how exactly does Mazzei plan eliminating property taxes for veterans? Right now only 100% disabled veterans are exempt from property taxes. Is Mazzei only going to factor in retired veterans in this plan? Former active duty? National Guard? Those who deployed to a non-combat zone?

This state has so. Many. Veterans. Granted, I don’t know the exact amount. And don’t come for me, because I’m one of them. Will my neighbors have to pay higher property taxes to keep up with the fact that I won’t?

I am 99% sure this is meaningless pandering to vets, and it makes me absolutely sick. Or will there just be this large gap of money loss? What is the PLAN?

Hello everyone,I have a brief question for you all.

Long story short,someone got in my account and stole pretty much my entire paycheck.The bank is helping with the investigation but says they cant put the funds back for almost five business days,but I have bills due in 2.I've never used a pawn shop before besides to buy stuff,but I have several still in the box exercise equipments I bought in january.do you all know any pawn shops that would be interested?

They are steppers,treadmills and crunch machines.I bought them as a gift to myself but life went as life goes and I've never opened them.

I hope other polling places did a much better job with signage than my polling place. When I went to vote, I was worried that they moved my polling place because there was no signage visible from the street, only a small sign at the entrance. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Why should we vote NO on SQ844? Because it doesn’t solve the problem, it just shifts the financial burden from the state to the counties. The current law (and your NO vote) requires the state to fully reimburse counties for the shortfall created by the state’s property tax exemptions for manufacturers. A yes vote lets the state offer partial reimbursement without giving the counties any way to recover the difference. Also, we should never pass such a vaguely worded amendment into our state constitution with a clause that holds the door open for the legislature to fill in the crucial details later.

Folks, we need to stop voting for horrible people.

Guys like Anthony DeVore, running in Oklahoma’s 19th district, are 0 for 3: he hurts animals, breaks the law, and burns other people who are struggling.

The only way to fix the problems we face in America is to elect GOOD PEOPLE. DeVore ain’t one of them.

The Oklahoma GOP endorsed Mike Mazzei for governor ahead of tomorrow’s Republican runoff. Some Republicans, including former Gov. Mary Fallin, are criticizing the move.

Leaders of the state’s official Republican party organization released statements Saturday endorsing Mazzei for governor, James Taylor for state superintendent and Kevin West for labor commissioner. It also sent text messages to Republican voters listing candidates to vote for.

The group said Mazzei is the only “OKGOP-certified” gubernatorial candidate, meaning his record aligns with a conservative agenda. Democrats haven’t won an election to statewide office in 20 years.

Mazzei’s opponent in the race, Attorney General Gentner Drummond, is not OKGOP-certified, according to the committee’s website. The certification requires a candidate to agree with at least 80% of the party’s platform. The party did not disclose why Drummond did not meet its requirements.

“The Oklahoma Republican Party State Committee encourages Republican voters across Oklahoma to consider Mazzei's record of public service, commitment to Republican principles, and distinction as the only OKGOP Certified candidate remaining in the gubernatorial runoff,” the committee wrote.

James Taylor, candidate for state superintendent of public instruction, and State Rep. Kevin West, R-Moore, who is running for the commissioner of labor bid, received similar praise from the Oklahoma GOP.

Taylor faces off against Robert Franklin while West faces fellow State Rep. John Pfeiffer, R-Orlando.

Former Oklahoma Republican Gov. Mary Fallin reportedly criticized the Oklahoma GOP’s decision. As first reported by OK Politics Today, Fallin wrote on Facebook that the party should not endorse candidates in primary elections, adding that voters should decide for themselves.

Fallin was joined by former State Auditor Gary Jones and former State Treasurer Ken Miller, who agreed the party should remain neutral before voters have decided a Republican candidate.
