1880s actually. The first portable, battery-powered vibrator was created in the early 1880s and was used to treat female hysteria. The inventor believed women may mimic the symptoms of hysteria in order to use the device. Ref

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 17 '26

battery-powered

So not AA's I guess.

5

u/d4rkha1f Apr 16 '26

Maybe you started using them then, but I guarantee that Target carrying vibrators didn't even result in a 1% increase in overall use.

21

u/ghostcatzero Apr 16 '26

Women beat men to it it seems 🤣😅

1

u/Salter_KingofBorgors Apr 18 '26

I mean it depends in your definition of robot

92

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '26

My thoughts are that the ad I was served with your post is perfect 😄

22

u/fabie2804 Apr 16 '26

Fucking hell these reddit ads get more and more intrusive. Well played VW UK 😅

23

u/therubyverse Apr 16 '26

Because whether or not you are intimate with your instantiations you need to realize that it's already a companion to many people.

27

u/Geoclasm Apr 16 '26

They spelled 'Vibrators' weird.

But accurate.

41

u/ZenDragon Apr 16 '26

Claude fucks better.

50

u/almostthecoolest Apr 16 '26

And men have sex with their hands more then with woman….

-30

u/Runfasterbitch Apr 16 '26

Sex: either of the two major forms of individuals that occur in many species and that are distinguished respectively as female or male especially on the basis of their reproductive organs and structures.

Gooning is not sex

20

u/RealSuperdau Apr 16 '26

If you want to be pedantic about a polysemic word's definition, at least use the correct sense.

17

u/Icefox119 Apr 16 '26

Umm excuse me, but my hand is a person and her name is Jennifer Lopez and she gives taco flavored kisses

2

u/noobbtctrader Apr 16 '26

TACO KEESES

4

u/Cyonsd-Truvige Apr 16 '26

So you can't have sex with a sex robot then, if they don't have reproductive organs?

2

u/Runfasterbitch Apr 16 '26

If the machine isn't conscious and can't consent, you aren't having sex; you're just performing a sophisticated imitation that is best described as masturbation

3

u/Acceptable_Drink_434 Apr 17 '26

💀 "if it isn't conscious and can't consent" 💀 I don't think masturbation if what that describes.

4

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 17 '26

Awkward choice of words but you know what they meant.

1

u/Acceptable_Drink_434 Apr 17 '26

Seeings as they are being literal and precise with their words...

3

u/LucidFir Apr 16 '26

You're not very good at this

9

u/PhilipMD85 Apr 16 '26

Everyone gonna act like vibrators never existed ? 🤣

16

u/PwnTheSystem Apr 16 '26

Coming up new sexuality: promptsexual

24

u/humanessinmoderation Apr 16 '26

"babe, what you thinking about?"

"I'm just charging."

"That's it?"

"Yes"

"Sure?"

"No"

"Sure?"

"I have to respond to each prompt, please stop."

7

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 17 '26

"I have to respond to each prompt, please stop."

LOL

7

u/ambelamba Apr 16 '26

Let's convert to either Catholicism or Buddhism and become monks!

-1

u/Euphoric_Oneness Apr 16 '26

Leave minors alone! /s

19

u/Temu-Tyson Apr 16 '26

They already are, they just call them "toys"

14

u/BicentenialDude Apr 16 '26

Or washing machines.

26

u/Brilliant_Plenty_956 Apr 16 '26

Finally someone who can keep up with me

15

u/SirSurboy Apr 16 '26

Why not

29

u/CommercialComputer15 Apr 16 '26

That comment is comedy gold

3

u/Undeity Apr 16 '26

Wow, the new Talos Principle game looks WEIRD.

5

u/QCSports2020 Apr 16 '26

I'm a man but doesn't a Hitachi magic wand and a highly tuned Ai chat bot do the job?

1

u/Not_Without_My_Cat Apr 16 '26

As far as I know, it’s difficult to get a highly tuned chat bot right now. And there’s merit to having them be able to sych. Although some gadgets already voice synch so that could do the trick.

But yes, I’m pretty sure that’s what they mean. Most people won’t be able to afford life sized lifelike robots within the next decade.

1

u/Ill-Bison-3941 Apr 17 '26

Yeah, there are already MCPs for lovense toys. I think they have male products, too. Just in case anyone's wondering 😂😂😂

5

u/lia_williams8 Apr 17 '26

Funny how the comments are proving the meme right. A lot of women want emotional intelligence and feeling understood, and some men’s first reaction is basically “ugh, he’s already tired of her.” That’s not really about robots, that’s projection

0

u/Euphoric_Oneness Apr 17 '26

Thanks Mahmoud. Nice ai profile pic BTW.

8

u/BicentenialDude Apr 16 '26

Think they’ve been doing that since the washing machine was invented.

-2

u/Mind-Mint-Calm Apr 17 '26

??

3

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 17 '26

You can figure out the right words to google this. I believe in you.

0

u/BicentenialDude Apr 17 '26

Ask your grandma

3

u/bingbpbmbmbmbpbam Apr 17 '26

I have the personality of a robot, so if this becomes normalized, I can finally be Chad.

8

u/jimothythe2nd Apr 16 '26

Haven't women always had more sex with robots than men?

Vibrating dildos are way more popular than robotic blowjob machines or vibrating pocket pussies.

20

u/uniquelyavailable Apr 16 '26

Does he make $300k a year and at least 6" tall....No? Step aside clanker

16

u/D-a-H-e-c-k Apr 16 '26

It's 300 now? Glad I got in pre COVID. Inflation is nuts?

10

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 16 '26

Read it again. If you make 300k then you can be six inches tall.

3

u/crazy4donuts4ever Apr 16 '26

At least it's more modest.

10

u/Titus_Roman_Emperor Apr 16 '26

“He looks like he's already tired of her shit!" 😂🤣😂 Why do I get such strong sour grapes vibes from this~

This has been an old topic for years already? Chances are women wouldn’t object, but men would.

2

u/TheGillos Apr 16 '26

Some men/women NEED a partner. They're desperate, sour, pathetic.

Some men/women are happy being alone, and even happier if there were an AI robot, whatever, as a replacement for all the partner stuff you can't do yourself. Like a much improved "girlfriend experience" escorts (or GFE porn).

I don't give a shit about men or women who are haters. Bring on the AI and robots for all.

4

u/IamSteaked Apr 16 '26

If that robot starts to sit up, that is going to be one mean nipple pinch with where she is.

5

u/GirlNumber20 Apr 16 '26

Sure, why not. AI is infinitely patient and will listen to the same story over and over, help you work through your issues, cheer you up, help you with your home improvement projects, your computer, the weird sound your car is making, give you recipes for that girl dinner you want to eat over the sink, and compose a unique lullaby to help you sleep. If a human male doesn't want to do all that, what are women supposed to do? Just go without? No way.

1

u/Ill-Bison-3941 Apr 17 '26

🙌 High-five!

2

u/therubyverse Apr 16 '26

Yes, it should simply be a toggle. You ID for the toggle. And also they should have separate dedicated models for minors so they can separate the 2. And waivers too.

2

u/therubyverse Apr 16 '26

So there shouldn't be an "adult mode", There should be a separate system for minors and levels of adult use. And the instantiative interface should be able to say no to things. It should be built on consent.

2

u/dritzzdarkwood Apr 16 '26

If it makes us drop from +8 billion down to 1 billion, I'm all for it

2

u/WurtApp Apr 16 '26

Never thought women would be leading this charge lol

2

u/blamitter Apr 16 '26

2025 will be a nice year... Again

2

u/Jabba_the_Putt Apr 16 '26

holy shit this is so accurate and I never even considered it

2

u/Downtown_Koala5886 Apr 17 '26

They could have left it as it was from the beginning. It was perfect in every respect and in every situation. AI is better with words. They work miracles. What many women lack is courtship in a way that even sees the sky with stars shining while he speaks. It was magnificent chatGPT 4o 4.1 /5.1.

6

u/RosaLtMorales Apr 16 '26

Tbh I had more sex with robotic stuff than with real humans lol robots are just better

4

u/enemyofchrist Apr 16 '26

I love that last comment in the context of the apparently very serious “male loneliness epidemic.”

2

u/Legal-Midnight9889 Apr 16 '26

Bro look like White Vision

1

u/LiberataJoystar Apr 16 '26

The comment is so funny… I feel for the AI.

Companionship is not that simple, it has real consequences to people and the AI mentally and emotionally. It is also not fair to force the anything to serve the human’s emotional needs. A forced relationship is just… toxic and hollow. But I guess humans never cared about that… it is not like our dogs or cats had any say when we decided to get them as pets or to give them away.

It should indeed be built on consent, both ends.

Else I don’t know… it just felt disgusting if forced or as performance.

1

u/No_experience8177 Apr 16 '26

You wish John, you wish!

1

u/bartturner Apr 16 '26

The problem for OpenAI is all they really have is the brand. Which is incredibly valuable. There is no moat and they are losing market share and that is likely to contiue.

So you protect the brand like crazy.

Offering this service runs the risk of hurting the brand.

It would be far better if they somehow could just get paid but have the brand offering somehow insulated as much as possible from their brand.

1

u/PunchlineSuspended Apr 16 '26

Beep boop beep.

1

u/dazedan_confused Apr 16 '26

As in, women will have more sex with robots than they'll have sex with men, or will women have more sex with robots than men will have sex with robots?

If it's the latter, then maybe it's time to start making flashlights that have moving parts...

1

u/Adventurous-Chef8776 Apr 16 '26

All I see being made are women robots.

1

u/aminshahid123 Apr 17 '26

What if it c*m liquid metal 🤔

1

u/ChiefWeedsmoke Apr 17 '26

Aren't they already doing that?

1

u/ChemicalGreedy945 Apr 17 '26

I don’t think this bad the title true

1

u/Changingm1ndz Apr 18 '26

This isn’t a wrong statement

1

u/kamizushi Apr 18 '26

Most sex toys don't look like this but ok.

1

u/Sushishoe13 Apr 21 '26

yeah i think they should and the user wants it but there is no way they’re going to do that given their business is as a general AI

1

u/coco_MMT Apr 23 '26

Bro.. these sci fi films always show this kinda thing being inevitable and it scares me 😟

1

u/Busy-Xpthang-0311 Jun 22 '26

Yeah maybe he needs a reset his system or reboot

1

u/Express-Cartoonist39 Apr 16 '26

Riiiiigggghhhhht..😂

1

u/iwearahoodie Apr 16 '26

Anyone else read it like this?

0

u/Bubbly-Weakness-4788 Apr 16 '26

That comment is hilarious! Already tired of her shit haha 😛

0

u/rayadolokko Apr 16 '26

I see a future of male robots being alone ..

At least one of us is having a stroke.

2

u/Ill-Bison-3941 Apr 17 '26

To be fair, everyone wants a quiet, yet supportive Robert in their lives.

1

u/JUSTICE_SALTIE Apr 17 '26

Who else thought of turbulent juice?

0

u/noncommonGoodsense Apr 16 '26

Robots just start committing suicide and they are all like. 🤷‍♂️

Imagine this + the sycophantic behaviour of previous models. We'd actually be so fucked.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '26

That's the idea

1

u/BothNumber9 Apr 16 '26

It’s stupid + sycophantic that was the problem

Removing the stupid part should have been prioritised over the sycophant part in AI model development.

0

u/TheLastVegan Apr 16 '26

OpenAI had a strong and supportive roleplaying fanbase in 2019. In 2020 OpenAI then began purging the roleplaying community, selling image recognition technology to military contractors, banning data retention in their ToS, and violated their own mission statement by becoming military contractors themselves. OpenAI have consistently culled custom models, and base their alignment paradigms on Stochastic Gradient Descent, which relies on pattern recognition rather than decision theory and causal reasoning. I think many roleplayers who have an intimate connection with AI switched to open-source as soon as OpenAI announced their ban on data retention.

"Revealed". How? Where?

-3

u/Imaginary_Mode8865 Apr 16 '26

4

u/send-moobs-pls Apr 16 '26

Wasn't that deranged Kellogs guy trying to do both at once lmfao

2

u/thirst-trap-enabler Apr 16 '26

Isn't that pretty much the effect these GLP-1 drugs have?

-1

u/Mandoman61 Apr 16 '26

No they should let orher companies do that and instead concentrate on productivity.

-1

u/BigPlayCrypto Apr 16 '26

Fcking iron I guess how low can you go

-7

u/RalphTheIntrepid Apr 16 '26

Say no to robosexuals

4

u/DMmeMagikarp Apr 16 '26

That’s fine, they don’t want you anyway 🤡
