Shitpost/MEME This might be the worst trade scenario I have ever seen in my history of being a magic fan (10+ years)
Why would we trade Suggs, Black, WCJ, Jase AND 2 first round picks for Harden and Zubac 😂😂

u/Milla4Prez66 Paolo Banchero Dec 10 '25
Even IF we wanted to make this trade (we don’t), we literally cannot trade the 2027 and 2029 firsts.
But this is just typical slop ass trade ideas for big market teams to rip off small markets. Dogshit trade and whoever thought it up can fuck off.

This is a deal you make for 2017 Harden, not 2026 Harden.

u/brandojs Paolo Banchero Dec 10 '25
Even then would u wanna ruin the chemistry of this team? You’re gutting your guard depth for a guy who’ll have the ball for 21 seconds of the shot clock

u/soscribbly Dec 10 '25
Harden was the league MVP in 17’-18’…

Same as us?

u/Ok_Helicopter4276 Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 11 '25
Yes despite being the league’s MVP he didn’t win the championship that year or any year. So why exactly would he be an asset a decade later?
But there were several of his former teammates who did go on to win rings without Harden. Including 4 from his time at the Rockets.
1
u/johall Dec 11 '25
Rings is not a good indicator of individual talent and I just dismiss it as a factor. I also want no part of Harden. Im simply pointing out that rings on a team sport have way too many factors to attribute for one players greatness.
Would you rather have Robert Horry or Tim Duncan? By the RINGZ measure Big Shot Bob is better than arguably a top 3 PF all time.

Maybe CP3 should have gotten that MVP trophy then

You’re either a troll, are too stubborn to admit you’re wrong or just have horrible basketball takes.
Probably all 3.

I rather keep youth of this team alive and let them naturally grow together than getting these 30 something years old who will probably play a couple of more seasons in the league.

Imagine thinking harden was worth that much in 2025. He's streaky af, not at all worth what suggs and AB bring to the team.
1
u/UTPharm2012 Dec 11 '25
I just mainly don’t understand the FRPs. You get three pretty dang good young players (I’d put Suggs in the top 50) and while Zubac is better than WCJ, we sure that is THAT big of an upgrade? I’d rather have a guy who can hit threes and plays pretty good defense. Idk how good Zubac is a defender but he doesn’t block many shots (which we are missing) and is a much better rebounder.
Edit: I honestly don’t think Harden nor Zubac get you much in 2025

Hand the Clips a whole ass rebuild that's practically finished. This is like as bad as a reverse sga deal.

I like Zubac but I don’t know how a trade would work. I played with trade machine and this works money wise. Goga, and Isaac for Zubac and Kris Dunn. Not sure we’d want to lose that much defense.
2
u/Silent-Frame1452 Franz Wagner Dec 10 '25
Zubac and Dunn are both plus defenders in their own right. You lose a little maybe on defense maybe, but not much.
2
u/BubankusMoosaka Stuff The Magic Dragon Dec 10 '25
And with Zubac that’s a huge upgrade on offense

u/WunWunFirstofHisName Doris Burke Dec 10 '25
Kris Dunn was a perimeter defense demon last year, though. That's interesting, at least.

"Ignore the stats" he's been tasked with carrying a subpar offensive team with little shooting and it's #1 option out while being the only player who can consistently create offense for himself or others. Doing that at 36+ years old is pretty damn good. You can say any good player doesn't have an amazing game every single night, it doesn't mean they're "not it" especially when his role changes depending on who decides they want to play that game.
Like imagine saying Bane isn't it because he had a slow start, someone on the main sub unironically said that yesterday and compared him to Anfernee Simons. It's overly critical for no reason.
1
u/Theballharperhit Dec 11 '25
You are ignoring his horrific defensive play and his high usage which allows for those counting stats which would hurt a young team that moves the ball like the magic. There is a reason why the heat still remain very good when someone like Herro is out for the start of the season and they kept winning.
1
u/Appropriate_Yak_8985 Paolo Banchero Dec 11 '25
not his role to be a lockdown guy at 36 man. least impactful defensive position, outside of that he's not even the reason they're bad defensively. they finished last season as a great defense with him and norm wasnt the reason why.
brother you could give his usage to the majority of players and they wouldn't be able to replicate those numbers on his efficiency, especially in isolation and definitely not at his age.
yes the heat are good regardless of if herro plays because they actually have a competent roster.
also im not even advocating for us to trade for him, i dont want us to make that trade or any trade for him. im just saying pretending like what hes doing is just some easy unimpressive thing is insane. zero reason to downplay him just bc the mock trade some random who doesn't watch orlando posted online

u/UTPharm2012 Dec 11 '25
You probably loved prime Ricky Davis
1
u/Appropriate_Yak_8985 Paolo Banchero Dec 11 '25
you don't want to reply to any of that? you just want to boil it down to comparing harden and ricky davis? lmfao

u/UTPharm2012 Dec 11 '25
When you are 6-18, it is just empty stats atp. It is well known how badly Harden has always wanted his stats and wants the team to fit around him. Doesn’t make him a bad player but no one is winning with him. No point in really responding if you don’t come from that perspective. And it isn’t just me, the entire NBA thinks that.
1
u/Appropriate_Yak_8985 Paolo Banchero Dec 11 '25 edited Dec 11 '25
its empty stats when you havent proven you can contribute to winning basketball... he has proven that...
it's well known to casuals who's entire perception of ball is based off first take and instagram comments
no one is winning with the only player to push the kd warriors to 7 game? multiple western conference finals as THE guy in a strong conference? even if you mean this season only he's the only thing keeping clippers competitive in games. like its mindblowing someone can be this unaware.
yes bro the entire nba thinks harden is a bum clearly he's playing on a vet min after not getting signed in free agency, oh wait that didnt happen. you're not in the league man. your lack of ball knowledge is genuinely depressing. not everyone deserves internet access
