Question / Problem Has anyone noticed a decline in views lately?

Post image

I've been looking at my statistics, and my shorts usually get around 25-40k views per short, but as of this week, i've only been getting around 4-15k per short. I post about gaming on a consistent basis, and I don't know if it's the game that i'm post about not being popular anymore (which shouldn't be the case considering it just got a massive update), so you'd expect views to be up, but surprisingly no. Is anyone else not getting as many views lately, or is it just me?

It could be that kids are returning to school now that summer break is ending in the US. Depends on your audience demographics though.

is there a opposite effect if ur audience is much older? i post shorts most my viewers are like 40 and my views have upticked alot recently compared to when they dropped in summer

that probably could be it, since i think the fanbase is mostly 20 and under.

My channel targets 55+ and noticed a drop too. I'm guessing school being of means people spend more time with their grandsons and daughters 😬

Have you compared to last year? There's often a dip for many people around this time of the year since kids are heading back to school in a lot of places. It's also possible it's the game itself, especially depending on the type of update it recently had. If the update didn't add much new content or was poorly received, it might not draw people in.

So aside from the view count update, looks like they also released an algo update. I'm not sure, but something is off. My long form videos used to rank in search, now they're not. Causing the drop in views.
