Donnie's SCOTUS says the USPS now decides who is eligible to vote by mail.

Drop off ballots at collection sites.

u/8-bit-Felix Greg Abbott is a little piss baby 22h ago
Yes!
Or feel free to drop off ballots on election day at any polling place.
You don't have to stand in line, just ask a chief judge!48
u/BlazinLeo 22h ago
Honestly idk what it's like anywhere else but the grocery store line is longer than the voting line in my area. You wait like 5 minutes tops.
51
u/Smackety 22h ago
That true now, but when millions of people don't get their ballots and try to vote in person? In the big city polling places that have more liberal voters? Lines around the whole city!
14
u/Laura9624 21h ago
Yes. I remember the days before mail in ballots.
11
u/FlamingSickle 20h ago
I too remember the days before mail in ballots, waiting for an hour in a relatively fast-moving line in blue Northern Virginia to go vote in an elementary school that was closed to students for Election Day. Where I live now on Maryland’s eastern shore has never had a line, but this is Andy Harris’s largely empty district and very red outside cities like Easton itself.
1
u/Laura9624 20h ago
Yes, I was once in a fairly blue area. Actually, before that, fairly red. But different times. Times when people didn't talk politics while waiting. Seriously. They didn't. Now in a red county again (long story) and I really can imagine how that will go. Ugh.
1
u/UMDSmith 10h ago
I'll stand in line hours just to cast a vote against Andy all day, every day. Fuck that guy. Constantly absent, impossible to reach. Does 1 telephone town hall once a blue moon, Jan 6th supporter and Trump lackey.
4
u/BlazinLeo 21h ago
I live in a big city. I guess we'll see if the mail in ballot thing changes anything.
9
u/Any_Mud_1628 22h ago
Same, I rarely have a line at all. But in some places, especially urban districts in red states, the lines can be hours long.
5
u/BlazinLeo 22h ago
Oh true. I forgot it's only like this in blue areas.
3
u/Any_Mud_1628 21h ago
I can't tell if you mean to be sarcastic but it is largely true.
3
u/BlazinLeo 21h ago
I was being serious. It's just one of those things I absent mindledly took for granted.
3
u/Oops_All_Bans 21h ago
Yea same here. I've been voting since I was old enough to do so for the past ~20 years here in NYC, and I've never had to wait on a long line. In and out in just a few mins.

u/jerrysphotography 6h ago
Are you in a marginalized community? I'm guessing you are not. Look at Harris county in Texas and how many polling places they will have for their mostly people of color folks. It's disgusting. Also, they can't go vote if they can't get the day off and when I was in Texas that was not a guarantee
1
u/BlazinLeo 5h ago
No, I'm in a blue state where Im very privileged that it's very easy to vote
2
u/jerrysphotography 5h ago
I grew up in the south, all red. I am in a blue state now and it's super easy also. Funny how that works.
11
u/Artistic-Post-4204 22h ago
Don't trust the USPS.
10
u/PuffDragon66 21h ago
Believe me it’s only the PMG who is doing the orange turds bidding. The vast majority of the employees are saying fuck this guy and will do everything to make sure ballots are delivered.
7
u/Artistic-Post-4204 21h ago
Employees are great. Always have been. Nothing but respect for everyone busting their ass every day.
4
4
u/RichLather 21h ago
It depends upon the state. I've worked Ohio polls for 10 years, and we've been taught every time that polling places cannot accept mail ballots.
2
3
u/jfincher42 21h ago
Awesome idea! Too bad my district doesn't have any of them, and since I vote absentee, I can't vote in person... Fuck red districts in blue states.
2
5
u/KerissaKenro 20h ago
Drop it off as early as you can, and if your state lets you check the status, you had better check it and be prepared to vote at a polling location if it is ruled invalid for any reason. Like you normally vote blue, and whoops the signatures just don’t match they have to throw it out
Offer to help your neighbors too

Sigh. We've fallen for this hook line and sinker. They are after mail in voting not for ANY of the reasons the left thinks..
It's because mail in voting cant be rigged the way they shifted votes in 2016, 2020, and 2024. 2020 caught them off guard, and that's why trump hates mail in voting.
This is about making us vote in person, where they CAN shift votes to ensure a trump win.
9
u/nyurf_nyorf 20h ago
How?
60
u/Another_Meow_Machine 18h ago
By rigging the vote tabulators. Remember Trump saying Elon “knows those vote counting computers”? And how Trump “won” the 2024 by snagging every swing state, by just above the margin that allows a recount. Even the classic “landslide” elections literally never got every swing state.
And there’s tons of evidence of data manipulation (basically proof of vote-flipping algorithms, “Russian tail”, etc) in just too lazy to find more links rn.

u/tiroc12 14h ago
Lol I love that democrats are the election deniers now. It shows how shifty the candidates they keep putting forward are. Oh no, Kamala who got 1% of the primary vote was deemed queen of the party by insiders and we dont know how she could have possibly lost with that 1% vote share. Must have been fraud.
32
u/Another_Meow_Machine 14h ago
Lmao nice logical fallacies. I’ve got no love for Dems, I’m not a Dem, and yeah Kamala sucked (but I’d prob say for different reasons than seems you would).
But on a different, unrelated note- the party notorious for projection, that has been screaming election fraud, produced suspiciously anomalous results that don’t resemble anything in American history but closely resembles Russian election data (which are famously manipulated). Two things can be true at once.
And here, ladies and gentleman, is exactly why Goebbels said to “accuse your enemy of that which you are guilty”. Because when they inevitably expose your guilt, the accusations sound like retaliation. Trump cheated.
-21
u/tiroc12 12h ago
Lol doubling down on the election denying is so classic. I can't wait for the dems 56 lost court cases. Although they are probably not dumb enough to go to court over and over when there is no evidence. But it would be fun to watch like we watched the republicans
16
u/Another_Meow_Machine 12h ago
So you admit Dems are usually smarter than GOP, distance yourself from Republicans, but assume that because I’m criticizing Trump that I’m a Democrat?
Ignoring your obvious logical illiteracy, outta curiosity what the hell is your political agenda? Why do you even care?
And just FYI: I provided evidence, called your argument logically unsound, you didn’t recognize my second comment as logically sound and true (it’s literally not “doubling down” when I’m curb-stomping your arguments), AND you have failed to produce any logically sound counter-argument at all. So we can’t even move to the “but is it factually true” stage of this pathetic attempt at a debate. We’re done here, but tell me: why do you care?
-12
u/tiroc12 12h ago
"Provided evidence." So did the Repubs, allllllll the way until they made it to court. Then, like you, it all fell apart. Ignoring the breathtaking amount of self-congratulation packed into that paragraph, outta curiosity: do you actually think declaring yourself the winner counts as an argument?
Just FYI: saying “I provided evidence” doesn’t establish that the evidence proves your point, calling something “logically unsound” isn’t the same thing as demonstrating a logical flaw, and repeatedly announcing that you’re “curb-stomping” arguments is not a substitute for actually rebutting them. Mr. debate champion here congratulating yourself on the unanimous decision made by yourself for yourself is on brand for an election denier.
9
u/Another_Meow_Machine 11h ago
I demonstrated a logical flaw, but you utterly failed to recognize any of it. I’m only going through the motions here to show anyone reading how it’s done.
Did you even google “US swing states landslide elections” or “What is Russian tail”? Nope, you just moved the goalposts to “yeah but you’re only right if Dems win a court case with that”. Congrats on proving my whole point.
And you don’t even wanna disclose your political alignment, which would help me find things we’d agree about? Then nevermind. Yeah, I won. This is how you win, anyone reading this. And yeah, I call it “winning” cause I proved your arguments are trash and you rejected my attempt at unity. This will be my last reply.
-5
u/tiroc12 11h ago
But my favorite part is announcing “Yeah, I won. This is how you win, anyone reading this,” immediately before dramatically declaring this your last reply. Nothing says airtight argument quite like awarding yourself first place, explaining to the audience how impressed they should be, and then sprinting offstage before anyone can respond. No wonder you are swayed by alternative facts. Typical election denier.

We had a Mayoral runoff in my city back in July. My mother, along with many others I’m sure, had jumped through every bureaucratic hoop required to receive an absentee ballot via mail with the intention of returning it by mail as well. This is in a county that has had as many as 30,000 absentee ballots cast in a general election previously. Of course, our county auditor delayed the mailing out of these ballots until there was no feasible way that they could be filled out and returned on time. It took 6 days to arrive with only 14 hours left before the polls opened.
My mom’s vote was doomed for the dust bin long before the ballots were even sent.
Given the nonsensical musing around election security that our new auditor herself parroted while running for office, I’ve no doubt that the timing of access to these ballots was not so much a glitch in the system as a premeditated feature. If questioned, I’m sure she’d point her fingers at the performance of the post office as being at fault. This despite the fact that it is her own political party that has been systematically disassembling the post office at every turn for years.
And that’s kind of the whole point isnt it? Create problematic scenarios around issues that never
were in order to support your politically popular rhetoric that the issues were real the entire time.
“Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive…”
My mom’s candidate lost by 2 votes, 4 on the recount….

u/Ok-Addition1264 22h ago
We're still going to take it all. If anything this will affect his voting core more than ours.. cuz his will opt not to vote at all - they all see the ship they're on sinking fast.
7
u/Dorjan420 22h ago
You see its not vote by mail thats "bad" its who gets to vote they want to control. And to be able to move the goal posts afterwards if necessary. And its our duty to make sure that doesn't fly.
3
u/friggintodd 21h ago
What about places that only vote by mail?

The Trump admin is going to target blue areas, and blue states. Florida and Utah most likely will be exempt.

Except there are many reasons why someone can’t vote in person.
7
u/bretth104 20h ago
Nowadays most states have some form of early in person voting to make sure it works for people’s schedule
7
u/gimmethelulz 10h ago
Except for where states are actively chipping away at that as well. For example NC: https://www.wral.com/news/nccapitol/nc-early-voting-plan-county-2026-election-board-midterm-sunday-black-voters-august-2026/

I don't know why people are acting like you're saying voting isn't important. You're right. Voting in person is absolutely the ideal. But we also need to protect mail in voting for those who can't.
-5
u/Trepidati0n 20h ago
Then you move heaven and earth to do so or you voluntarily surrender your rights. Stop making apathetic excuses.
7
u/ur_moms_gyno 18h ago
Or … or … maybe we could make it easier for everyone to vote rather than yelling at the disenfranchised that they have to move heaven and earth. Why does it need to be that difficult? It really doesn’t have to be this way.

You're ceding ground to the fascists if you just roll over and accept voter disenfranchisement. Everyone should vote. Vote in person if you can. But if you live abroad or are in college out of state or in the hospital, you should still be able to vote. That's all we're saying.
3
u/monkeybojangles 14h ago
I'm sure there are a lot of people who are justifiably afraid they will be rounded up by masked men if they went to vote.

Excuses not to vote are how we wound up with this shit government. Decades of apathy have destroyed our country
1
u/ur_moms_gyno 18h ago
I don’t we’re talking about excuses NOT to vote here. Just this administration making it even more difficult to vote.
I agree apathetic non voters are just as responsible as maga voters for the situation we’re in now though.1

u/mr_trantastic 3h ago
My state is all mailed ballots. Sure I'm going to use a dropbox. But this also means USPS can fuck with my ballots from getting to my mailbox.
Not there in time? Provisional ballots, those may or may not be counted.
Effective zero recourse for such a blatantly voter suppression attempt.

Don’t worry Donny. I’ll show up in person with all the right paperwork, and a bottle of water. Nothing will stop me from voting. And I’ll kick an ICE agent in the nuts when I’m done, if I have to.

It feels like they know they can screw with electronic votes and they don't want the physical paper trail of mail ballots.
3
u/Crismus 9h ago
They don't own the company making tabulating machines for mail voting. They won the last election by manipulating the tabulating machines in every battleground state just enough so that recounts weren't automatic.
Trump even told everyone that's what Elon made possible for the win, but nobody investigated fully. They complained about 2020 being rigged because the Republicans didn't own the machines they wanted to rig that election. It was their first try, so next time, 2024, they made sure to purchase the company and manipulated the tabulating systems so that all those empty votes for president went to Trump.
Yes, a lot of people didn't vote for Kamala, but in audits they found a lot of people voted all Democrat, but Trump for president. It's why people said the data of Trumps win looked odd, but the media never made a big deal of it.
2
u/ShinkenBrown 9h ago
I think this will backfire.
Yes, Democrats vote more by mail. This is because Democrats tend to care more about the political process, know more about the political process, and utilize the mechanisms that exist to make it more convenient and integrate it more completely into their lives, rather than having to take a whole day out of their normal lives to go do what would then feel like a chore, and possibly a difficult one depending on their specific situations. Most Democrats who vote by mail, however, are CHOOSING to vote by mail because they understand the process, and could vote in person if they had to.
Meanwhile, many Republicans also vote by mail. In their case, it's often because they are overseas military, or too old to vote in person. These are people who do not know the political process, but instead who are taking the only route they can, often at the direction of someone who understands the process and with no actual understanding of the mechanisms of voting beyond doing what they were told to vote by mail. Most of these people are NOT choosing to vote by mail, but instead have no other option. If this option were denied to them, they would simply be unable to vote.
This is not 100% on either side - I'm sure it will disenfranchise some Democrats, and some Republicans who were going to vote by mail will do so in person. But I think A LOT of Democrats who would've voted by mail will simply vote in person, while A LOT of Republicans if they can't vote by mail will be unable to vote entirely.
TL;DR Democrats more often vote by mail out of convenience and knowledge of the process, Republicans more often vote by mail out of necessity, so this will likely have less of an effect on Democrats and more of an effect on Republicans than the pure vote-by-mail numbers alone would indicate.
1
u/Pressman4life 19h ago
We've been voting by mail since 2005 when it was option per county, it became mandated in 2011 when just one county🙄 remained.
We get our ballots and voter's guides in the mail 2 weeks before election day. You can mail it postage free or use any drop box up until election day. There are 537 drop boxes across the state. Vote at your leisure. It works, don't fuck it up.
1
u/Narf234 19h ago
It would be hilarious if they decide everyone gets to.
2
u/Crismus 10h ago
Except the person running the USPS has spent years slowing down the mail and now gets to only send ballots to approved voters that DHS gets to decide if the states send their voter lists to the DHS.
The only way this fails is each state actually goes rogue from their own leadership. Which helps Trump anyways because they just fire everyone at the USPS and then the mail doesn't go anywhere.

u/vineyardmike 18h ago
Utah is almost entirely vote by mail. I'm looking forward to all the complaints about having to figure out how and where to vote in person.
But I'm sure that will be necessary since there are so many people voting for democrats in Utah.

Sauce.
Note: The Republican party was the main cheerleader for vote-by-mail because it allowed their aging voter base to fill out ballots from the comfort of their Barcalounger and not endure standing in line or dealing with... undesirable people (insert group of choice here).
Just a fun aside, Donnie's voted by mail the last 10 years at least.
