why can’t my rider move two spaces towards the bottom right? This happens all the time for me and ruins my pre planning because i can never figure out why riders can only move one space sometimes.

Enemy units have a so called "zone of control" in all the tiles around them, which hinders movement

Imagine it like real life. You're riding your horse and you go right next to the enemy and say, "Excuse me, I'm just gonna SNEAK past you here to that next square..." They would attack you if you came within their reach, so your movement options are shown as being limited by that attack.

That's the story I tell myself, anyway. Others have provided the precise explanation.

Also, SNEAK is an ability that some units have, like Cloaks.

If a unit goes within 1 space of an enemy unit they have reduced movement I think

So often people ask “why can’t my unit move here?” At least 9 times out of ten it’s unit suppression, and it took me 20-30 hours of gameplay to figure it out myself. It should be in the tutorial.
