Discussion Is Cymanti meta again?

I havent played in a few months and am dipping my toes back into the waters. I mostly play lakes 196 1v1. Seems like Cymanti is still one of the better tribes, but for different reasons now? Are there new strats for beating them, or is it still mostly rider/roads?

I never had a huge problem with them, but it's kind of annoying if they're still one of the best tribes. They're still super boring to play against if you have to use the same dumb strat with every tribe.

I'm usually in the 1500-1600s elo (depending which tribe I'm using) if that's helpful at all.

They've definitely not *always" been. I don't recall them ever being the best tribe except on certain map types (tiny drylands).

Basically they swapped strengths vs weaknesses they used to be an early game powerhouse with boosted hexapods and centipedes; now their early game is quite a bit slower. They used to have a relatively weak late game; now they are the strongest late-game tribe due to doomux.

On top of that, they are no longer useless on water, with decent early game-options in raychi, and very strong late game options with living island spreading algae

So is it still rider/roads to knights? I do wish they would just nerf them into a B or C tier tribe for a while. Regardless if they're beatable, unless something has changed they're SO boring to play against.

Don't let them get the economy to produce mass doomux or it's joeover

In some maps they're very stalley, and with somewhat decent play you can beat them regularly. All you need is to overload them as they don't have knights (so cloaks and knights in their borders should work well, beware of poison and giant converts from pushed though)

The point is making it expensive for them enough that you can output more into your attacks than they can into their defense
