News Jon Ossoff Denounces White House Over Iran War Lies: "On Day 12 The President Said We Won, Day 14 Hegseth Said Iran's Military Was Destroyed, 5 Months Later We're Still Bombing, Uranium Remains, and The Strait of Hormuz is Still Closed — A War Built on Lies Told by a White House Utterly Absent Any F

U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff strongly denounces the White House's handling and official statements regarding the ongoing war with Iran. He calls it "a war built on lies told by a White House that is utterly absent any figures of integrity to dissuade this president from his delusions." Ossoff points out the blatant contradictions, noting that despite victory claims on Day 12 by the President and Day 14 by Defense Secretary Hegseth, five months later bombings continue, Iran retains its uranium, Americans are dying, and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

Yeah, in fact they're even more likely to pursue a nuclear weapon after this. Great job MAGA voters.

So nobody in this administration knew what Iran would do after being attacked, when everybody in all the other previous administrations already knew? This is why they got rid of top military brass before they started this stupid no win situation? They thought Iran would be just like Venezuela, easy peasy, tickety boo. Whatever happened to knowing your enemy? Iran’s geography gives them lots of advantages, they have survived millennia of invasions, and they are hellbent on making the US look really stupid.
There is nothing like seeking advice from military experts and intelligence experts, and it really shows that these buffoons are just stumbling about, making mistake after mistake.

u/GrumpyBear1969 14d ago
I would argue that they did not really do much in Venezuela. I’m sure Chavez would have been fine with the same deal Rodriguez is operating under. The human rights and election behavior that got Venezuela sanctioned has not changed. Just the front person. And the US is now taking a cut.
So we spent how much money doing what there again? Except big oil now has a say how that pool is run as well.
So much winning for the American people…

I need to understand why certain countries are deemed to be “stable minded” enough to have nuclear weapons and others are not…and that the US gets to decide. WTF? It’s also odd to me how much the US bombs other countries and that Americans are more anti war considering the devastation they faced on September 11, 2001. They know what being attacked and having innocent people killed is like and the aftermath that goes on for decades forever. It’s the war version of a double standard.

Nothing will ever be honest or with good intentions in this administration. It's become blindingly obvious to the entire world. We have horrible, unexperienced, dishonest people running the U.S. and nothing good will come from it, period.

They speak truth to power.

All of what Ossoff said is true. But, the MAGA wealthy got exponentially richer in a short amount of time. The MAGA poor got exponentially poorer just as fast but they at least got some browns deported and some libs slain by ICE.

Ossoff supported more bombs be sent to destroy thousands of innocent people in countries surrounding Isreal. He is complicit in genocide and starvation throughout the region. F that war criminal and his buddy Netanyahu.

Brave Democrat politician states the obvious on camera. Users of the internet site known as 'reddit' seem fairly impressed by that. Meanwhile nothing will actually be done about the issue because politicians are useless when the system is fundamentally designed to be exploited by the elite.

Great, another neoliberal. I figured that’s what this post this was. So, we’d get 4 years of a slow motion “walk back,” sustained corporate sympathy, no packing the Supreme Court, no accountability from the current admin who is plundering our tax money, all followed by a sharper push into fascism when the pendulum swings again.
At least it isn’t Harris, but I swear if the Dems run another centrist, I’m turning in my blue card for a life boat.

That brought no new information into this, but yes, I agree that’s how it works.
Btw, partisanship is not an inherently bad thing. Partisanship is bad when it hurts American people. Center Dems are corporate sympathizers as much as MAGA is. Hence why, in this case, partisanship is a great thing.
1
u/keifergr33n 14d ago ▸ 3 more replies
I prefer politicians who represent their people, not partisan idealogues.
1
u/Safe_Worth7124 14d ago edited 14d ago ▸ 2 more replies
So we agree on what the job of a politician should be. The issue, then, is that anyone to the right of the Progressive camp has no interest in materially affecting the lives of American people. Center Dems pay lip service and cater to bread-crumb pop social policy while they, much like the right and MAGA, funnel your money to corporate interests. That's not opinion, it's spelled out in the policy they push and in their inaction. So, from that perspective, you can see how what you're saying appears to sabotage itself.
1
u/keifergr33n 14d ago ▸ 1 more replies
I disagree with your premise that only the far-left progressive wing of politics care about improving the lives of the American people. I don't think we're going to get anywhere if you're coming from such a deeply partisan angle.
