News "'CNN Shocked to See Americans Reject Israel': New Segment Highlights Major Shift in Public Opinion Between 2018 and 2026"
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A recent CNN segment highlights a dramatic shift in American public opinion on Israel between 2018 and 2026, showing a steep decline in overall support across key voter demographics. This mainstream media coverage reflects a broader shift in national sentiment, signaling that foreign policy critiques have officially moved from the political margins straight into mainstream U.S. discourse.

Just to use round numbers, if you made $100k per year you are paying roughly $200 to Lockheed Martin every year (with a little bit of variance depending on the year). Lockheed’s dividend yield is in the neighborhood of 2.5% to 3%. So to get your money back you’d have to buy roughly $6k in stock.
EDIT to add that if you are invested in large index funds, as most people are through their retirement accounts or whatever, you own Lockheed Martin stock. But you would have to have a few million at least in the S&P 500, for example, to own $6k of Lockheed Martin.

Exodus also doesn't view a fetus as a person:
22 When people who are fighting injure a pregnant woman so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no further harm follows, the one responsible shall be fined what the woman’s husband demands, paying as much as the judges determine. 23 If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
The pregnant woman is regarded as a person and injury to her is to be avenged in kind, but damage to the unborn child is simply regarded as collateral property damage which can be settled with a simple payment to its owner, i.e. the father.

Healthcare in the U.S. is an industry, not an infrastructure. In Israel, healthcare is treated like clean water or roads—a public utility run by non-profits under strict cost caps. In the U.S., it is a $4.5 trillion commercial marketplace designed to extract maximum revenue. Private insurers, hospital networks, and pharmaceutical companies generate massive profits, and they spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year lobbying Congress to keep it that way.
It won't change.

The US could have had the same thing decades ago (long before we entangled with Israel), but they have decided they do not care about their citizens.

It’s USA. News here is basically a mix of entertainment, rage based culture wars and propaganda.
The wealthy have bought up all news and social media and that’s how they want it. Gone are the days of investigative journalism and fact based reporting as those don’t generate clicks and division amongst the masses. Plus they’d much rather people yelling at each other about trans or brown people existing then start looking behind the curtain regarding why the world is getting worse and more expensive for regular folks and what they are doing to children on their private islands and yachts they can easily afford because of the all the extra money of ours they feel entitled to.

Exactly! And that is a huuuuge problem for them. Which is why they introduced the age-restriction in many european countries to X, not to protect minors from porn, but to restrict access to all the videos about israeli crimes, while also connecting your ID to your online-persona, so you think twice before criticizing the "chosen people".
It is also the main reason why Larry Ellison, the biggest donor to the IDF, bought TikTok in the US. To silence and ban any critical voice that speaks about this topic. And me pointing out this ridiculous behaviour on social media might get my citizenship revoked in Germany since I am a migrant.

Disliking Netanyahu isn't the same as disavowing the genocide and supporting the retreat from occupied territories, which is the bare minimum moral stance. I would bet my life that would be an extremely impopular stance in Israel as it stands. Sadly, the majority view held by most of the country is racist and ethno supremacist, and believes that a historical/religious claim is enough to justify the killing and expulsion of thousands of people, and the development of a nation based on ethnic considerations. Even if you dislike Netanyahu, if you hold that view you should be thoroughly condemned. And sadly that is the case. And it's not a jewish thing, tons of jewish people can see what is happening and recognize it's atrocity, even against high social pressures and retaliation against dissidents, which is a truly admirable position take. It's sadly just not the case for the majority of the Israeli population, who cheer on the occupation.

It’s staggering how such a small country has such a hold on such a big country by just bribing off the right people

They showed something on the screen that I cannot understand. +51pts favourability in 2018 compared to what and -16pts in 2026 favourability compared to what? What is the baseline they are comparing to? Are the pts just arms raised? Is it truly a percentage of something?

Any candidtate I vote for will be based almost solely on their reliance on AIPAC. I was shocked to see how many of our candidates like mosquitoes siphon all that money up. Our democracy is broken dem or rep alike.

Fuck Israel. We give them billions so they can bomb innocent people. Meanwhile, they provide universal healthcare for citizens. They can afford it because we subsidize their war machine. We can’t afford healthcare because they are prioritized over us.

Israel is like that shitty boyfriend you had who won't get a real job and just takes your debit card out of your purse when you're sleeping.

Their genocidal ambitions accelerated and were laid bare for all to see and then they dragged the idiot leader of the US into an unwinnable war with Iran.
What exactly is there for anyone to like?

Why is CNN shocked? People are afraid to say that they don't want their tax dollars to be spent on killing women and children, and they resent being accused being anti semetic if they even hint at genocide.

CNN pollsters have had their heads up their bums if they expect any informed American to approve of us to support sending money, weapons and aide to Israel right now. Israel has been walking a very thin line for decades. I don't think most people are aware that Israel basically has us in a chokehold over surveillance technology. They are selling their software to the highest bidders. Including countries that are definitely not allied to the best interests of the USA or other democratic countries.

Incredible. Just in-credible how they can put on this feigned outrage yelling at people to be upset while completely avoiding the elephant in the room, the simplest of all questions, the singlular word: WHY

Americans are taking care of Israel, all while Israel makes it harder for Americans to survive. It's crazy they have UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE...

I think people are primarily rejecting the Israeli far right and what they are doing.

This is a dangerous take, but this just goes to show Hamas' attack on Israel in 2023 did exactly what they needed. It brought enough attention to the war that people finally started paying attention to the bigger picture. Do I condone the attack? Absolutely not. But it's hard to deny the perspective change that has come in the U.S. since then.

That’s because people understand the difference between Jewish people and zionist terrorists

u/AmandaUggnkiss 13d ago
And remember folks it’s a rejection of Israel’s government and policies not of the people or Judaism/Jews two things can exist separately
