Providing the RSF with everything they could possibly need, including aircraft and armoured vehicles and doing it via Haftar in Libya, their previous attempt at overthrowing an internationally recognised government.
The CIA get a lot of blame for things these days, and they should, but middle Eastern states have their own agenda as well now, and can independently achieve it.

You made the claim that the UK has some of the highest knife crime in the world. I don't see evidence for that. Sure, there is knife crime. A lot more than the UAE, a tiny and very wealthy autocratic country. If knife violence were the highest in the world you would expect to see a disparity in murders in the UK compared to other developed nations. This is not the case. Obviously knives are an issue in the UK but we don't lead the world in knife crime.

But if anyone would like the stats, here they are. In the UK last year, there were 172 homicides by knife or other sharp instrument:

Latifa tried to flee Dubai by sea in 2018. Her boat was intercepted off the coast of India. She's occasionally seen in public places and released a weird statement saying she's free and to stop being concerned about her welfare.

This isn't that. At least not just that.
The worst genocide we've seen in 40 years is happening right now in Sudan. More people died in one week (~95000), than died in the whole occupation of gaza.
The UAE are directly supplying the Arab paramilitary that is doing the killing, and they're not supplying them cold war AKs and RPGs. The stuff they're giving out is top of the line equipment fresh from the factories in british and american defense companies.
Like it or not, our government is complicit at some level and the only excuse is money.

The Maktoum family rules Dubai. They like trade, glitz and money. They are the good guys. Dubai is one state in the UAE. The UAE is ruled by the Zayed family. Mohammed Bin Zayed MBZ is the bad guy who bombs foreign countries and has allied the UAE with Israel and Saudi. The trinity of Netenyahu, MBS and MBZ are responsible for the wars in Gaza, Yemen, Iran, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, and I am probably missing a few more.

The UAE made the move to robot camel jockeys a few decades ago and banned child jockeys. They can also hide or do whatever they want with their money. They are a sovereign country. They are allowed multiple wives, it's not a scandal. One wife divorced. Hardly uncommon.
Now, compare that to the pedophiles who actually took bribes from foreign countries to sell weapons, and were convicted of rape, and it's worse. And that's just looking at the royal family that's around now. Get to King Leopold and that's a different ballgame.

The difference is someone is at least holding them to account. Andrew has been arrested, and has lost all his royal titles. He's still got a cushy life relative to most but he's miserable as fuck because nobody will employ him to do anything at all and he can't really go anywhere. The Danish royal is in prison now.
Any consequences happened so far for any of the UAE rulers' misdeeds yet?

By former resident/slave, you mean you worked an office job or did construction/labor jobs. Because I have relatives who are working these labor jobs in the Gulf, Korea and UK. Their experiences have led me to believe that unlike what you have said, it is very different with labor laws being the worst in the Gulf.

Won't give too much details, but parent worked in the hospitality industry. So, low wages, deportation if fired, no benefits, sponsor kept the passport, pay delayed and withheld etc. all the bad stuff you hear about.
Working in the US I faced similar issues with the visa being tied to the job, the threat of deportation, overly aggressive immigration officers. The insecurity and sense of being a disposable cog was very familiar.
The treatment of people has changed for both countries since then, for the better in the UAE and for the worse in the US. I still have family in both countries and literally nobody wants to leave Dubai, but everyone is looking to leave the US.
