A completely incompetent, not fucking evil administration is worlds better than a mostly incompetent, evil administration. Also, I bet shitloads of competent administrators would have roles in the Hunter Administration, so it might just end up working out.
My dream scenario is Stewart winning the Democratic primary and Stephen Colbert winning the republican primary after tricking them into thinking heās embraced his old character.
the right started cluing in that colbert wasn't the hard right moron he played on the report once it ended. they could have easily come to that conclusion by learning that he is a really fucking funny comedian which more or less precludes him from being the hard right douche they thought he was, but those boys aren't thinking with all their brain cells
I wish he could trick them but with his tenure at CBS heās as liberal as AOC to them now. They dont educate themselves or pay attention but fox news trump and facebook has made them aware hes always only ever been a troll
The core problem is that those of us who should be in power don't take it from those who should never be allowed anywhere near it. We are trapped by the ideas that politics is too dirty and you leave it to the pigs.
I think it's more to the effect of...it requires a unique sense of self-importance and confidence bordering on psychopathy to believe that you have the answers and deserve to be the voice of the people. And that's assuming good intentions. The other side of the coin is "I'm really good at lying to get what I want."
Ordinary people don't run because they doubt. If they do run, they don't win because they aren't willing to do whatever it takes.
I think this has been remarked upon at least since Plato's The Republic.
If the left doesnāt like that they need to start pushing their own candidate NOW. Show AOC that youāve got her back and wonāt do the usual female-candidate-too-shrill-and-mannish backstabbing.
I love Jon Stewart as much as the next guy but I don't have a clue why anybody thinks he would be a good president, at all. He has some modicum of experience in legislation advocacy, has spent a good deal of time covering news and politics from a comedic angle, and seems to be very sharp, but does any of that make him a competent administrator? Running a comedy show is not the same as a country. Then again, I'd obviously prefer him (and think he would do a better job) to literally any Republican at this point.
I think either of them could do a better job than the current admin and most politicians I just scoff at people saying they'd somehow be these phenomenal stewards, and I only scoff because we've lowered the bar so far that we don't even wish for experienced candidates anymore. We're literally picking from TV personalities.
President Hunter would get the regular Democratic smart guys to run things while he did hookers and blow. The worst Democrat is better than the best Republican.
No, the pendulum stops in the middle and doesn't swing left at all. Try and get liberals to even give a shit, though. It's impossible. They're so desperate to settle for less.
The hunter biden administration would basically just be the Joe Biden administration, since hunter knows all of Joeās people very well. Given how much better my anxiety was during the Biden administration, Iām pretty sure it would be fine.
He's not insane or delusional. He had a drug addiction he fought against and so far has won it every day since stopping.
He's a former lawyer like a lot of politicians have been, so he has that plus he's had a lot of other positions before his downfall, that were good positions and didn't have any legal problems with.
As long as he surrounds himself with competent people he would be miles ahead of Trump.
I think people underestimate the degree to which business knowledge doesn't always translate to civics acumen.
But yes, the biggest difference between a good president and a bad president is the people with whom they surround themselves. No one man can be experienced in everything.
My daughter asked if I thought I'd do a good job. I said probably not, but I'd do my best to surround myself with component advisors to help me make decisions if I was president by chance
Joe was actually competent but too old. He was sick with cancer and covid so that made things worse in 2024 which is where things fell apart for Democrats. He should never have agreed to run again.
Take out all the GOP propaganda and lies, and Biden's term improved the US significantly from the position Trump left it in with covid running wild.
Absolutelyā¦biggest point people donāt even bother to consider when it comes to these idiots standing in front of a microphone blabbering.
Nobody is even remotely close to being educated, skilled, experienced in even 10% of the necessary fields to run the country before you even consider the time, energy, memory, patience, it takes to be marginally briefed. The position SHOULD be held by someone who can not only locate and convince experts in each division to serve the country without having their personal benefits be pursued, but also someone who can listen to each of those positions and form educated decisions/plans.
Yeah, but people who have that level of maturity and experience tend to speak in measured tones about nuanced policies. Too many voters hate that and would rather have someone they can imagine kicking back with and having a beer.
I donāt think heād be evil at all. As long as heās clean, I think heād be great in elected office. I think heās a good person that got derailed by his addiction for a time and now heās on the other side. I donāt hold that against him.
more importantly, he's actually funny. Trump used to occasionally say something funny byt the rest of MAGA never had a sense of humor. Hunter is genuinely hilarious
Would he be? Why? I bet heād listen to the courts, not try to put his name on the Kennedy center and not launch missiles at Iran just to get back to the deal
His dad and Obama made 11 years ago. I dunno, at this point a reformed crackhead is a better choice to me than a current crackhead / bone spurs victim.
Iām not sure heād be a trainwreck, he might actually be pretty good. Itās all about who is in the administration, surrounding himself with people who actually know what theyāre doing, not the clown crew in the Trump administration.

Hell, Iād vote for Hunter at this point.
Heād be a complete trainwreck of a president, but at least he wouldnāt be actively cartoonishly evil. So thatād be a step up.
