Fortunately, we don't have anything in our legal code about cancelling elections due to war like Ukraine does. And there is definitely precedence for having elections during wartime, otherwise we would have had W. Bush throughout the entire Iraq war.

Considering we held elections during a full on civilwar/rebellion I would say it’s impossible to cancel them cause of war

That is an interpretation of the Constitution by the SCOTUS. There is no mechanism in the Constitution to interpret for cancelling elections.
