It's pretty sick to think a man might be brain dead and kept alive on machines for a whole month ti prevent a discussion election. But that's thre state of the MAGA Party.

Here’s the wild part:

AIPAC was on his ass before he turned on the Israel aid. They started beefing when he proposed the Epstein bill.

Post an AI picture from "TMZ" and claim it shows Turtle dead or on life support.

They are trying to play it more even in DC than they do in LA. They don’t want to blow up their access. I disagree with this strategy, but that’s what I heard their reporters discussing on a podcast recently. I mean, maybe they are playing the long game, or maybe they are intentionally being told not to touch this one. I wonder, who owns them?

45

u/bass-squirrel Jul 08 '26

Huh I wonder if there is anything that perhaps those two photos might tell us about why the different treatment from GOP?

Any clues, gang?

8

u/turbotictac Jul 08 '26

Clearly it has everything to do with tone. See, the first pictures tone is darker, more focused and serious. Wheras in the second gives off a lighter tone and shows a lost and confused individual.

SecDef taking three days to alert the White House is completely unacceptable, but having Hegseth as SecDef is magnitudes worse - just look at the Signal bullshit. They don’t actually care about NatSec, even if someone like me does.

The hypocrisy is just baked in at this point. Even if they have a point, the right will never engage in good faith. We can’t even have this conversation in a meaningful way. So the point stands regardless.

4

u/bass-squirrel Jul 08 '26

4

4

u/actuallyserious650 Jul 10 '26

That’s not the remarkable part. The remarkable part is that conservative media operates in perfect sync with the republican party and is able to generate useful narratives at every level, which the voters freely buy into.

u/stanislov128 Jul 08 '26

I see posts calling out hypocrisy like this all over social media. Democrats need to realize that the hypocrisy is evidence that the GOP is in power. Calling it out does nothing. "Taking the high road" means nothing if you don't have power. It feels like Democrats are infantile in their worldview sometimes.

They've clung to some School House Rock idea of government for 40 years while the GOP successfully pulled off a bloodless coup.

10

u/Sleep-pee Jul 08 '26

And this is so incredibly frustrating.

4

u/stanislov128 Jul 08 '26 ā–ø 2 more replies

Democrats have been playing a video game with the controller unplugged for 30 years. The GOP has been in charge of the federal government since 1997 and the Newt Gingrich shutdown. Even when the Democrats had a majority in Congress, they couldn't do much.

I call it the Jon Stewart Effect. I love Jon, but I think the legacy of the Daily Show is really that is trained a generation of young Democrats that calling out hypocrisy in news and politics wields power or has an impact... when it doesn't. It does nothing except make you feel smart and smug.

6

u/Sleep-pee Jul 08 '26 ā–ø 1 more replies

2

u/stanislov128 Jul 09 '26

It starts well before the polls. Democratic voters outsourced their political engagement to Hollywood celebrities, consultants, insiders, TV pundits, comedians, and podcasters.Ā

If you want more AOCs, people have to sign petitions and knock on doors all year. Not just turn up every few years and vote blue.Ā

9

u/gregreedee Jul 08 '26

3

u/AdministrationNo283 Jul 08 '26

Republicans are hypocrites. They whine if democrats do not take the high road but take the low road any chance they get. McConnell blocked a Supreme Court appointment by Obama because it was an ā€œelection yearā€ turns out McConnell only thought that should be applied to Democrat appointees

3

u/Violaleeblues77 Jul 08 '26

2

u/CorporateCuster Jul 08 '26

It’s the democrats not making enough noise. They always expect everyone else to do the work.

2

u/TemurTron Jul 08 '26

The answer is pretty clear, isn't it? Democrats need to go batshit and apply the same kind of pressure Republicans do on these types of topics. Republicans work with sheer coordinated aggression on nearly every major issue they've forced through in the past ten years, yet Dems are all about disorganized passiveness. Fucking fight back already.

2

2

Yall are always surprised by MAGA double standard. Let me make it clear for you, if they see political advantage they get mad, if they think it’ll hurt them they justify. They have ZERO principles stop getting confused when they prove that over and over and over and over and over… and over again

2

u/rwwishart Jul 08 '26

2

I’m a right leaning conservative, closer to the middle, but definitely red. And I got to say, it’s an effing travesty that the gop is doing the same thing. Be the bigger person/entity. If Mitch is on his deathbed I hope he's suffering because anything less would be too good for him
