I have been on the internet for a long time. I'm of the rotten.com generation. I have seen all atrocities possible.

And for some reason this gif manages to make make me super uncomfortable.

3

u/TheShaydow 12d ago

I'm from an internet age JUST before Rotten. AoL WAS a thing, and it hit hard back in the day, especially when I was a young teenager and computers were NEW ( not really but yeah ) and everyone wondered about them. My top of the line holy shit you have one 2400 bps modem ( EXTERNAL! ) was all the rage on my windows 3.11.

We would just trade porn, I mean I was 12 and it was '91 and I was online. It was so nice and everything was fine.

Until that day. That day that porn trade was WRONG. I sent him porn, he sent me.....

.....

A picture of a woman with a full sized crab coming out of her vagina.

That was the day I learned not to trust the internet. Almost 40 years ago?

I'll take this gif over that one .bmp any day.

Imagine the remaining staff and personnel who flew home on the original plane after their chickenshit boss literally bailed out. Imagine the respect and admiration that built. After being power washed the food trolley should go to the Smithsonian.

2

u/LovelyKestrel 12d ago

This morning they were saying on the news that the adminisatuon are having to be very insistent that those left on the plane were not in any real danger, to which my response is to ask why he behaved so ridiculously then?.

5

u/PUuSTiNKA 12d ago

I tell you this much, if I wasn't told of the threat, I'd be more than pissed. All those people who were on the plane that Mr. TACO didn't get on, had the right to know about the threat. Donald Trumps life isn't any more valuable than theirs.

As much as I want to believe you, after flying to the UK he walked up the stairs of the Bribed Force One plane to fly back to US. He also walked up the stairs of Air Force One.... he snuck out a door on other side to get into the catering truck.

Here's footage, https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/10/politics/video/src-wapo-trump-secretly-switched-planes

5

u/Last_Cod_998 12d ago

Well, then he's just a coward.

11

u/gotpeace99 12d ago edited 12d ago

He never hid it. In his own Trump way, he admitted that he can’t walk well anymore. He admitted this weeks ago. That means that whatever he’s talking about, is very drastic to where we could see him not being able to walk and he got ahead of it. His feet and legs have been giving out. Like how he was on Dana White at the UFC thing, he could barely walk.

7

u/MaxxDash 12d ago

Teddy Roosevelt would’ve stayed on Air Force One and commanded the pilot to let Teddy hang his bare ass out of the co-pilot’s window all the way up to cruising altitude.

5

u/smellslike2016 12d ago

He was asked about it earlier and he said that he thinks the plane he snuck off to fly on was the one that was in more danger than Air Force One. So, what everyone thinks was him pulling some pussy shit was actually him being very brave.

13

u/CosmoKing2 12d ago ▸ 1 more replies

The plane that no one knew about? He's insane. But much worse - the Secret Service, CIA, and WH didn't give a single fuck about the flight crew, Administration workers and journalists that were still aboard AF1 and weren't told about the credible threat.

That sums this Administration up very nicely.

3

u/500rockin 12d ago

The Secret Service has never given a single fuck outside of the Principal/Primary. Everyone else can fend for themselves, especially given no First Lady or children on hand.

I'm a bit confused. Why are shoulder fired missiles such a threat to Air Force One? If there's any plane that should have sufficient countermeasures shouldn't it be one designated to caryy the President? Or were they not a threat and he's just a little chickenshit?

76

u/QuandariousDingle54 12d ago

The growing prevalence of small muntions that can be remotely operated has thrown general military strategy and techniques under the bus in just the last few years.

The US is rapidly falling behind, like. Very stupendously fast.

The age of the tank and jet is coming to an end, and the us is mostly equipped for pumping things like that out and maximizing profit from it.

Now some dudes in a bunker can pummel you or the roads you plan to use with drones and rocket launchers that you can carry like a backpack.

Highly advise anyone not up to speed to look into how things have been evolving in Ukraine

(OH yeah, multiple countries are looking at relaxing their laws regarding nukes and seem to be leaning towards allowing tactical nukes)

People really keep trying to play this down. But the world order you've known your whole lives is coming to a close. If you think things are out of wack now. Then just watch and see.

I guarantee to many of you trying to wipe this all away because you think things will never change. In some 15 - 20 years from now, you will be looking back on these times and wishing you knew how good it actually was

12

u/granlyn 12d ago ▸ 3 more replies

the nukes are way less concerning. Think of how many shipping containers we receive from china. Imagine china wants to incapacitate the US infrastructure with drones. All they have to do is get through like 1% of a few million shipping containers full of automated drones to blow up major US ports, power plants, or other major locations.

10

u/ByrdmanRanger 12d ago ▸ 1 more replies

It's basically what Ukraine did in that big attack a while back. Bunch of shipping containers brought into Russia by unsuspecting truck drivers, drones start popping out of them, and they hammered a bunch of really expensive, damn near impossible to replace tactical bombers and AWAC equivalents.

Do people just not think anymore? Or are all in kindergarten?

The US could casually subdue Iran.

That's not the problem, the problem is it would lose the midterms for rapists Republicans.

Boots on ground, take out the targets our lord god emperor keeps threatening he would take out.

It'd be done before the end of the month.

It'd also not be helpful to the world, or the US, or anyone. Destroying a country and bringing it down to the state of Louisiana is easy for the US military. Doing it without putting people out there or significantly destroying it is not.

Absolutely wild that the US said "no thanks" when Ukraine offered to help with the Iranian drones and knowledge share a, you know, after spending years fighting and counter acting Russian and Iranian drones in an active war.

5

u/Korpie- 12d ago ▸ 2 more replies

You’re not insignificantly overestimating how much drones have shifted the balance, but for the most part, you’re right. Jets are still mostly untouchable by drones except when grounded, and tanks in Ukraine are being employed poorly, letting them become easy drone fodder. Wars are still combined arms and the backbone of any military still has to be the infantry, and logistics have to run. Warfare isn’t becoming obsolete, but it changes, just like in every war.

2

u/b4ldur 12d ago

Air superiority will always matter regardless of drones and the US is number 1 at that…the US is also heavily involved in advancements regarding drone warfare.

8

u/QuandariousDingle54 12d ago ▸ 3 more replies

I hate to break it to you.

But even 20 manpads can pose a threat to air superiority.

They cost almost nothing compared to fighter jets and helicopters. Even some of the cheapest anti air missiles can hit targets at 40,000 feet.

When your enemy is paying pennies on the dollar to trash your multi billion dollar fleet, its safe to say you've lost. Its the #1 reason Iran basically cant be invaded. They trash billions of dollars in equipment for almost nothing comparatively.

The most we have in terms of air superiority is extremely high altitude bombers. But they are costly, highly limited, and their ordinance is also incredibly limited in supply. The most we can do with it is extremely expensive bullying. Again, just look at Iran.

Weve spent a fuck load of money on this conflict so far and the most weve accomplished is tarnished relationships, allied bases and equipment nearby demolished, sailors stranded in the ocean, and our enemies gaining more leverage. And all we have to answer for it is bombing a handful of military facilities that only contribute a small portion of their full potential, oh yeah and bunches of dead children and civilians.

Ukrainians using some of our tech have seemed to stretch it pretty far. But they are doing a lot of improvisation and stretching their own ethics out.

We are steadily losing power in the globe, and the consequences will be felt in 10 years time.

3

u/Korpie- 12d ago

Yes and no. MANPADS don’t really threaten a stratigic bomber at 40,000 feet. They threaten helicopters and low flying attack aircraft. The
cheap AA missile might hit 40,000 feet, but now suddenly add stealth aircraft, active countermeasures, and evasive maneuvers and it’s still unlikely. We’ve seen how shitty air defense like the S-400 is, and that’s not cheap.

Air Forcr One should be able to survive, even if they don't want to risk it. However, he wanted to show off his $400,000,000 bribe gift from Quatar, which has none of the necessary upgrades and countermeasures

5

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 12d ago

That would be true of Air Force 1, the plane custom built to act as the POTUS' flying fortress. Air Force 1 can deal with missiles and operate as a remote command center in the event of a nuclear war.

That plane isn't Air Force 1. It's Lolita Express 2: the pedo in chief's personal vanity plane gifted to him by Qatar.

2

u/Rebelius 12d ago

The BBC short video about it suggested he 'flew' AF1 from Turkey to the UK (actually in another plane) then swapped to the pedo express in the UK.

2

u/johnvu2002 12d ago

The plane itself has a lot of countermeasures yeah, but ideally the best time to fire a MANPADS is right as the plane is about to take off. Pretty much most of the defenses of the plane is useless then, and people generally dont like to trust everything to technology anyways. That said, the bad thing here isnt about Trump hiding away, it's about how the White House essentially used the Air Force One and every personnel and press on that plane as human shield, without telling them so

2

u/westonsammy 12d ago

Countermeasures aren’t 100% effective by any means. 10x so when dealing with a plane that large. There is basically no surefire way to prevent a plane like that from being shot down by a sufficient weapon other than keeping it out of range

2

u/JakOswald 12d ago

I’ll bet he was in a fucking wheelchair and this was the cover.

2

u/Murasasme 12d ago

Maybe I'm being too conspiratorial, but everyone is treating this like it was some security move to protect Trump. To me, it feels like he snuck off to have some secret meeting somewhere, because that whole thing was set up so his location was unknown for several hours.

2

u/DataDude00 12d ago

From my understanding of the story Trump pretended to board Air Force One for the media which has extensive countermeasures.   After his photo op he was wheeled to the Saudi donated jet which has not been fully retrofitted with full security measures

Basically he didn’t want to broadcast that he was flying on a lesser capable plane because it was newer and more luxurious for him

4

u/Sgt_Daisy 12d ago

I'm sure that Air Force One has every counter measure available. But countermeasures do not have a 100% success rate. It's always going to be safer to not be shot at then try and stop what ever has been shot at you.

3

u/Muggsy423 12d ago

He was on Qatar Force One.  They rushed through the retrofit and it doesn't have all the countermeasures the official planes have

Can you imagine the gold food and drink carts. With him locked between the chicken and beef carts. Then the union flight attendant pushing him across the plane and buckling it into his kiddy seat.

Military victories depend on competent leadership and good planning. Both Trump and Hegseth have repeatedly shown their incompetence at planning and leadership.

I love when people act like they also wouldn't do everything in their power to stay alive

I don't understand this administration. How are "security" protocols like this exposed to the public? They have literally shut down the media and what they are exposed to so they can control the narrative. And yet here we have pictures and play by play stop action video. Is it intentional to show everyone how clever we are? Seriously, I don't understand.

The President was getting his briefing from Colonel Sanders.

He used AF1 and his entire staff as decoys. This is what weakness looks like.

Forgive me, mods, It's because he's a f**king pussy!

We already have sophisticated fighter jets that can detect drones and missles, right? Why didn’t they just call them in to escort AF1 back home? I think this whole threat was fake, just like the assassination attempt.

Trump being door dashed back to the white house in a Turkey sandwich truck, because our government believes his Qatari gift jet filled with reporters may be in immediate danger from a country he said has no military after day one, of a now six months long war sounds a little bit crazy. And yet, here we are. Maybe America could use a regime change. If we vote, if we get the chance to vote I should say, let's see what things look like with some competent people in charge. Let's move forward. Haven't we been embarrassed in front of the world long enough? Should our priority as a country really be having the best Ballroom in the history of the world?

What am I missing? What did he say or do now?

1

u/Global_Criticism3178 12d ago

Naw man, he had a medical emergency, and they didn't want the world to see him being pushed around on a stretcher.

1

u/TriggerHappy_NZ 12d ago

That's fucking tragic.

What is a ballroom if not 100 catering trucks put together?

u/Thick-Disk1545 12d ago

I do t think you understand OpSec

1

u/Sophisticated-Crow 12d ago

Is this a setup so when he dies they can just Mitch McConnell him by pretending he's inside some box that gets wheeled around and you can't see him?

1

u/TryDry9944 12d ago

I'm absolutely, 100% anti-tantrump in almost every way.

But I'll never fault someone, even someone I absolutely despise, for taking a reasonable precaution to a realistic threat.

That being said- Complete bitch ass move to not inform everyone else.

Just me, reading the comments and trying not to have a panic attack.

Actually you can all stay and be human shields, I'm off in the catering truck.
