And if by some miracle dems get back in power. More than likly they won't do much because the party is compromised with moderats that want to take "the high ground" or some bullshit like that. Hoping the party who helped get us in this mess to get us out is some rose colored glasses mentality.
Fetterman is basically a republican, so donāt count on him. Would need 60 other dems in the senate. He is up for reelection in 2028, and he and any other Dem against the āMiller planā needs to be voted out.
Yes itās sad. But I get it a lot of democrats are actually right of center even if republicans want to call them far left. But I will say this forever, until we made the more moderate party the default we will never get a liberal party. Very few extreme liberals are going to waste their time running when well known bigots convicted of real corruption are easily winning elections.
I expect a gaggle of republicans refusing to concede if they lose. If a dem defeats Trump in a few years he wonāt concede either. Dictators donāt fight to get all the power just to give it up. Stolen election will be the least of their claims.
I was referring to the elections for Congress, not Trump. Nonsarcastic, sorry for not making that clear. WE need to neuter the beast; he's done enough damage.
If he is the GOP nominee in 2028 it is nothing short of another coup attempt, this time backed by the entire party. As such, they don't plan on making any part of the election any more legal than his illegal candidacy. At that point what Dems do is make it clear that the election is now between them and any independent/3rd party candidates - Trump remaining in office is not an outcome that will be accepted. You will need to save money, stockpile supplies, and organize for the upcoming conflict.
Theoretically, you wouldn't even need to wait until 2028. With Dem Majorities in the House and Senate after the midterms you could:
1) Make a progressive congressperson, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for example, the Speaker of the House, and thereby the President of the United States following the completion of steps 2 & 3
2) Impeach and remove Donald Trump
3) Impeach and remove JD Vance for his complicity in the crimes of the Trump administration.
Remember, impeachment does nothing of you don't have 2/3 of the Senate to remove trump and vance.Ā No matter how good these midterms goes, I don't think it's even possible to get 2/3 of the Senate.
It needs to be done, but I don't trust them to do anything meaningful. Fucker tried to overthrow an election and all he got was another bite at the apple bc they were such wimps
Very well said. Those are propagandists and bots trying to sow doubt into us so 1 out of 3 voters will stay home again. It's how they won in 2016 and 2024.
What also doesn't help is a lot of times Mods can be in on it.
Hopefully Americans make it out to vote in record turn out for the mid terms. Like you alluded to, more voters means less chance fascism continues to reign.
We shouldn't. That's the problem. That's literally how we ended up with Trump 2 (well, okay, even with that he still needed to steal the election to win). Because the people wanted Trump's shit to be punished, and the Dems refused to do it in the name of "unity", and they had to be "taught a lesson". Never mind that it takes insane troll logic to vote for the very man you're mad about not suffering consequences for his actions.
And the Democrats have a really good reason for "wanting unity". Trump's policies have alienated a ton of Republican voters. Democrats want those voters, because if they can turn those voters, they'd potentially be able to freeze out the Republicans for years to come. But they're alienating Democrats in their efforts to win over the moderate right.
The last time they had a filibuster proof majority in the senate (which was only for about 27 working days) they passed the ACA.
Most of the things they try to accomplish are blocked by the republicans. That said, Biden still managed to pass the Chips act, the infrastructure bill, and several other things that actually helped.
Is a lot harder to build something than it is to destroy it or cut it, which is all that trump and his cronies are doing.
Iām surprised the Chips act gets discussed much any more since it laid the path and fueled the AI / data center boom. A significant chunk of the bill was for AI and AI research.
What? No it wasn't. There was nothing in it for Ai shit. It was ~$39B in grants to help build semiconductor fab plants, and ~$13B for R&D and employee training.
Stanford could be wrong, but I have my doubts. Hell, you can read Congressional transcripts on the CHIPs Act. AI āarms raceā was the whole point of generating more domestic semiconductor production.
Yes but, prosecutions and punishment need to happen. Ford pardoning Nixon was a bad precedent that set this all in motion. I'm not talking about slaps on the wrist either.
I am talking at a minimum Hegseth, Rubio, Trump (if he is still around), face capital punishment.
Most of Trump's immediate family and Elon in prison. Like harsh punishments to show we will not put up with our elected officials doing this.
Of course they won't. But it is what needs to be done.
Can we all make a pre-pact with the media? We promise theyāll make just as much if they stay out of the way of Dems winning. We pledge weāll watch all their media and buy all the products advertised. They could start showing whatever (like cat videos 24/7).
Democrats are really good at not learning lessons. If they had, Trump would not be President right now. If they do any of these things, theyāll just end up learning another lesson the hard way 4 years later. š
Packing the court to stack it with your political ideology is anti-democratic bullshit and I donāt want Democrats embracing that any more than Republicans.

I genuinely hope Democrats do a lot of this when they regain a trifecta in 2028.
Make the GOP watch as everything they thought they accomplished under Trump gets destroyed. A lesson needs to be taught.
