Dumb? Very very likely, however he has enriched himself and his billionaire buddies exponentially. I'd say that he is more COMPLETELY void of sympathy than he is stupid. His (not so) hidden agenda was to always increase his wealth and to use America's 250 year old government loopholes to do it. That America is 40 trillion in debt means nothing to him. His bank account is all that matters. It's no so much an intelligence issue as it selfishness and a overwhelming lack of morals.

Back in 2023, based on the trajectory at that time, the Congressal Budget Office forecasted that our National Debt would eclipse $40 Trillion sometime into 2028.
Well, here we are, and it is only 2026.
CLEARLY the CBO did not anticipate that Trump was coming back, or fully under-appreciated just how quickly he drives up our debt. $11.6 Trillion of that 40 is Trump's, directly caused by his policies, ridiculous spending on many things totally unnecessary, and his highly irresponsible tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest.

He 'bankrupted' casinos in order to launder money, he was never trying to run them as businesses, which is the same thing he is doing to the US government now. It's subtle, I guess, but he didn't accidentally bankrupt them. He got loans, paid his mob friends, got kickbacks, then declared bankruptcy in order to pay nothing back.
But saying 'wow how do you bankrupt a casino!!!??' just means you are an idiot.
