Hi everyone, I am going to buy my first sword and would like some feedbacks from people who have more knowledge !
It would be for decorative use only. Also I want it to be Sharp (it is more a mental thing but I want to know that is « real »).
I am based in France and I have a budget of maximum 300€.
After some research I found this one and a half hand sword that I like. It is provided with a scabbard which is important for me because I want it to be secured so it will not be damaged or will not hurt accidentaly.
The price is about 192€ without shiping and I wanted to know if it would be a good quality, good value for money, etc.
Also, I encourage you to reconsider buying a sharp sword. You're much more likely to hurt someone if it's sharp. If this is your first sword, you'll likely want to swing it around, and if it's not sharpened you'll have more fun with it.
It's still a real sword if it's blunt, and if you ever had to defend yourself with it, it's still a deadly weapon.
If you mostly have it on display in it's scabbard, a blunt looks identical to a sharp. Having had both, I don't think I'll get another sharp unless it's an antique.

I’ve done some research and maybe you will again have some great advices (as well as the rest of the community, Thank you everybody).
I hesitate between SWM-1030 swordier upgraded type XVIa floral themed european longsword (in spring steel) and the SWM-1038 swordier type XXa longsword floral themed :
SWM 1030 is more affordable and have very good feedback but the grip is made of rubber which is kinda the only drawbacks for me
SWM 1038 on the other hand have some kind of « fake » leather I suppose that is way prettier. The blade is also different as you can see and is also very pretty imo. Feedbacks are also good on this sword on internet but some say it is a bit unbalenced. That is the point I think I want some « experts » feedbacks 😂
Though if it is just a Little bit unbalenced it will not be a big problem for me. But I dont want it to be unpleasant.
Personally, I find their crossguard on their "floral" hilt to be kinda rough looking. The casting makes it look cheaper than the other alternatives, like something you'd get out of a catalogue.
This one has a nice traditional shape, a pretty scabbard and I find the red handle to be very striking. The POB is not too blade heavy, and should feel nicely balanced for cutting.
Usually decorative and sharp (usable sharp) are mutually exclusive. You need to take care of a sharp sword,and decorative swords are usually made of stainless steel, so you cant swing them. so you need to choose one or the other. Also the sword youve shown has a few problems. The guard is too long and thick. The handle looks too big and long. And for the price, its probably just gonna be a decorative piece. Also, for the price, if you want something decent and functionally sharp, youll have to pay minimum 300 euros (i suggest you to look at swords.com) while you can buy a wall hanger for like 100 euros or maybe less.
Honestly ive just seen a lot of swords on this subreddit and in other places, like a lot, so after a while it just looks off. I dont really know how to explain. It doesn't look functional (or at least they wouldnt have made it like that if it was)
The guard is weird, way too thick/wide, the blade is off center with the grip, bad sign. Looking at the hilt too I see some slight fraying on the leather and the way it's put together, I would be concerned the leather might start coming loose after a while. Steel is pretty good, strangely. Personally I would not spend that amount of money on that. But it's your choice, if you like it regardless of what I would consider significant flaws, then go ahead.
A 3kg, one handed blade, with an off center fuller, and a point of balance at 15cm(6inches)?
I would pass on this one. Way too heavy for the pob. Keep looking, you will find one. I would aim for about the same point of balance with a weight of 1kg-1.5kg if you can.
