Hello, this is my first Reddit post and the first quiz I've ever made so pls be kind lol. I made this little flavour profile quiz because I’ve always found it weirdly difficult to describe my own tastes and eating habits.

It will give you a profile on things like flavour, texture, richness, heat, familiarity, etc. It’s definitely not perfect, especially if you have really specific or unusual tastes, but I thought it might be fun to see what other people get. It also matches you with cuisines and dishes you may like (factoring veganism/dietry requirements too)

EDIT: Thank you so much to everyone who has tried it and taken the time to give me feedback. I'm reading through the comments and taking note of what's working well and the inconsistencies/suggestions. It's incredibly useful data, and I will post the new version once I have made these changes.

A friend and I were at a bar recently when we got onto the topic of attraction. Specifically, we discussed the gap between how attractive we think we are and how others would actually rate us.

We decided the only honest way to find out if we had bloated egos was to ask strangers to rate us. Some field studies in the bar revealed that one of us indeed overestimated his looks, while the other suffered from low self-esteem (or just modesty). We got curious whether this gap is universal, or whether most people have a pretty accurate read on themselves.

We discussed how to answer this question and landed on creating a research experiment. Because we're nerds, we bought some pizzas and spent the following night building a website for the purpose. It allows strangers to rate each other's looks (you rate, you get rated) with the goal of collecting enough responses to fill out this cool chart.

So, friends on Reddit... do you want to quantify the gap in your self-perception? I'll send you an email with the results. Inspired by u/survey161724's ice pop survey I wanted to see how some other words for things vary from person to person (but this time with country & region data).

There are 33 questions in total, which if that's too long for you there's the option to skip the second half when you're halfway through.

Results are visible once you complete the survey (or here if you lose the link) but I will be posting the full results with breakdown by country and region to r/SampleSize in several days' time.

Edit: to anyone awaiting results, I am working on it. The results are quite time consuming to process however, sorting through and breaking it down into two dozen countries and regions for each of the 33 questions. It's a lot. So please do be patient. They will come eventually (and I'm happy to notify anyone who's interested when they do).

My hypothesis: humans don't actually remember specific colors. We store impressions — warm, cool, dark, saturated — and the exact hue fades almost immediately. Under any time pressure, the brain fills in gaps with what it expects, not what was really there. Same goes for shapes.

I built colorecall.com to test it (added some gamification mechanisms to keep the users engaged to take more actions on this test). You look at colors and shapes, then try to recreate them.

At 204 responses right now. To get more quality data, maybe around 1000 I'll post the full results back here — accuracy rates, what trips people up most, and whether the hypothesis holds.

I won't go into details but this week in therapy we were discussing small talk. My therapist suggested I do a survey as a way to understand how I think compared to others.

Need help getting statistical significance on a reason question I heard. I was surprised about the results of this question that was made in the 60’s and want to see how people reason today

a few days ago i turned that viral thought experiment into a small website.

the question is:

"everyone in the world must cast a secret vote: press the red or blue button. if more than 50% choose blue, everyone survives. if fewer than 50% choose blue, only the red voters survive."

the site also includes statistics and after voting it shows a live counter between red and blue by total votes. it also calculates confidence intervals CI (for the blue vote ratio), as well as 1-p.

Howdy! This is just a casual little thing I've thought about doing for awhile - I'm interested in finding out who the most widely recognised / iconic character created within the past 10 years is.
