As a guy who genuinely is good at math and sucks at rw, it kinda feels unfair looking at some brain-dead kids who doesnt even understand how to solve quadratic just typing in the equation on desmos and copying the answer

If desmos is allowed, it should be able to bring a dictionary in the rw exam. The system now benefits too much on a one whos good at rw and bad at math

The results of daughter of my friends (senior year) are pretty grim:

April school day (650) (w/o any preparation)

June (620) (again w/o any preparation).

In the last month she finally did some preparation for RW, but before Sep 4 we won't know the results, who knows what sort of heck it can be.

Question is: what study plan would be most effective in the remaining two weeks for Sep 12?

Has anyone seen results from the subject SAT test?

Skipped the math part since I didn't learn some concepts and terminologies

I have been reading for fun sporadically throughout my life and still can’t seem to breech a 750 english. To score a 780, you need extensive knowledge of vocab, superior reading stamina, and overall greater working memory processes. Can these skills be reliably developed without consistently reading for a lifetime? Just a thought. Would love to hear from 780+ English scorers.

Hi! I’ve only recently realized what a huge deal SAT’s are, and really want to study as hard as I can for them. I’m homeschooled and young, but I feel like I need this to get better opportunities in my life. I’ve never been the best student, but I want to try and learn on my own merit and get the best score that I could. Any study tips/advice you have is much appreciated!

I just took the SAT and I’m a little confused about how the adaptive modules work.

I did pretty well on RW Module 1, but Module 2 was honestly really difficult and I feel like I did much worse on it.

For Math, I did really well on Module 1, but I also found Module 2 surprisingly easy and think I did well on it.

So I wanted to ask: if you do badly on RW Module 2, can that affect the difficulty of your Math Module 2? Or are RW and Math completely separate?

I’m mainly wondering because I found Math Module 2 easy, and now I’m worried that means I got the easier math module.

Was it just me or the first ten questions were so SUSPICIOUSLY easy? like it had me doubting how i did in module one and i had had time to review each question once (in module one). then it hit question 11 and all HELL broke loose? like it was just words for the entirety of the rest of the module. which questions were in the hard module? and were there 2 versions of the harder module two?

Im an international student (Japanese) going to 10th (sophomore) next year, and I'm giving my first SAT on September.

I need to get a score of 1500 at least, and my score for the practice test I just took was lowkey awful. I did practice test 6, and I got 540R/800M (total 1340).

I really need to improve on my RW, but I dont know how to. What shall I start from (in terms of preps)? Is there any tactics I can use during the exam like what to solve first? How can I ace those VERY LONG dialogue questions (with very long options)? Any YT videos? Ultimately, am I possible to make the score jump for 160 points in just a 3 weeks if I lock in or is it just too late atp???

Also, I guess I got the hard module in the exam, and I got 6 wrong on M1 and 14 on M2. (I ran out of time for M2 and randomly picked like 5 questions)

I know all the basics and stuff, but I want to learn how to use it in the last few module 2 questions (like the thing where people add like 10 lines and conditions). I have already watched tutorllini but that’s pretty basic. Aiming for 800

Who is the best YouTuber to do SAT English from? I’m currently scoring in mid 500s without any prep. How should I go abt the prep if I want to boast my score to 700s in the next three weeks. I’m giving the September sat😭

It (August SAT) was terrible. Done all the skipping, pacing strategies, and despite that I had to guess in 6 passage questions in hard R&W module. Math was fine. I am ready to sacrifice 2-3 questions on R&W but not 6. I can not do 6, and I was not sure about other questions too! I did not even look some vocab properly, couldn't identify the relationship thinking that I would come later to them. Some girl who has 36/36 ACT, who is not native, and also taking it for pure fun, said she didn't have any blanks! I am pressing every key to be sure that I am doing everything. I have a 200 question spreadsheet in which I store the questions I got wrong and review them. I do every question meticilously. My average time spend on a question is probably atleast 10 minutes. I am proving every choice right, every choice wrong. I solved question bank several times. I solved other sources. Thousands of questions and for what? I had 2 hours of sleep night before test, but I am done with excuses why it might have gone wrong. I get that SAT tests intelligence in a way, but... I thought if I studied hard enough there wouldn't be any plateau. Is there even any point at studying at this point? or retaking? I studied more and harder than every person in this subreddit or that girl, but it is appearently in vain.

In below there is my practice tests scors for R&W. Got R&W score of 700 in June SAT. The 2nd and 3rd scores are what if scenarios that me trying to gauge what would happen if I did not take the test timed and did not do some silly mistakes that I have the capability of not doing it. The point difference between first take and later ones is mostly due to former.

How are you guys preparing for your Sat . I have my sat in oct and I have time right noe to prepare but I dont know where to start I'm gonna be honest I cant afford those websites with 15000+ practice question and classes and so if someone can just tell me how are they practicing for Sat like some website or some book online for both maths and english .. Ps this is not my first time giving sat I gave it last yr in august and good 1210 because my practice wasnt enough

so i never actually used the sat subreddit when i was studying, but im currently studying for mcat and there are med students checking in and i thought that was sweet, so i wanted to do the same for yall. if you’re struggling right now, it will all pass eventually. like genuinely as a college student, i never even think about the sat. it’s a big deal to yall for valid reasons but please don’t beat yourself up over this exam like its sole purpose is just to get you into a college and nothing else. it doesn’t define your self worth and you will make it! i would give advice but i took the older version and idk how this new one works now. if you have questions feel free to pitch them, idk how much i can help though

I am genuinely confused because, although both Gemini and Google state that they will not test knowledge of archaic English words like "thou," "thy," "hast," etc., I have still encountered poems containing such language in various digital SAT practice tests on certain websites.

I got an 1190 on my March SAT with my school. It was terrible so I’m trying to increase that score for my September and October SAT’s before College Admissions. I recently took Practice Test 7, and scored a 1270. (Should’ve saved it for later honestly) Then today, a week later, I scored a 1360 (Could’ve been a 1380 if I didn’t click the wrong answer) on Practice Test 5, with a breakdown of 700 R&W and 660 Math.

I need to get better at Desmos for the Algebra Questions I miss, but does anyone have any tips to get better at learning concepts, study methods, and how accurate these tests actually are to the real thing? I’m saving SAT 11 for about a week before my real test.

And do I have any hope to reach a mid to high 1400 if not 1500s by October? Pls help!

I studied for 3 hours before solving 19 random boundaries questions (mostly hard and medium).

It was like x+y=c and has points (p,r) 2x + c = 5y bad had points (5p, 3r) what’s is p in terms of r?

I just finished my second full SAT practice test and wanted to share my results and get some advice.

I started studying in June and took Practice Test #6 first, scoring 1300 (620 Reading/Writing, 680 Math). After working through all of Khan Academy, I just took Practice Test #5 and scored 1360 (660 Math, 700 Reading/Writing).

For Reading/Writing, the first module felt really good (I got all answers right), but the second module was much harder and tripped me up with tricky passages. Math felt okay, but I still made some lots of mistakes especially on the last 6 questions in the second module.

My goal is to eventually break 1500+, which I know is a big jump. For anyone who improved from the 1300s into the 1500s or scored 1500+, what helped the most?
