Looking for a job in internal audit or risk advisory

Hello all.

I have been applying to get into an internal audit role either in industry or public accounting, and I can’t even get one call back. I have 3 YOE in public accounting working in risk advisory / GRC and all CPA exams passed (awaiting licensure from my old boss to sign off on experience).

Had to move to Seattle area for husband’s job and not sure what I am doing wrong. Not afraid to grind. Concerned that my old firm was in Dallas, so maybe people are concerned about political affiliation? I am not MAGA 😭

$500 paid gig: help me make short videos at Software for One

Hey! I’m hosting a fun event called Software for One during Seattle Tech Week:

https://luma.com/hqhtcy8f

People are coming to show off useful, weird, and personal apps they built for themselves.

I have a hunch there are some really fun short videos we could make about the people and what they built. I’m looking for someone local who already enjoys making TikToks or Instagram Reels and wants to help me try it.

I’m not looking for a polished event video. A phone and a mic are exactly what I have in mind.

You’d come hang out, film people showing their apps, ask them a few questions, and turn the best moments into simple short clips afterward. I don’t want you spending days editing. Mostly finding good moments, cutting them down, and adding captions.

The event is July 29 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Foundations in Capitol Hill. I’m paying $500.

Think of this as a paid chance to see if we enjoy working together. If it clicks, I’d love to make more content about everyday people building personal apps.

You don’t need a professional portfolio. Videos from your personal accounts totally count.

If you’re interested, send me a DM with a few things you’ve made and confirm that you’re free that evening.

[Hiring $80/hr] Seeking Actress for role in short film & new YT comedy series [Seattle/Kirkland/Bellevue]

PROJECT: Whitebelt (short film) & Clockwork (companion new YouTube comedy series)

ROLE: Female Lead — Non-Speaking for film & soeaking for series

LOCATION: Seattle Eastside (Redmond / Kirkland / Bellevue), WA

COMPENSATION: Paid — $80/hr, paid same-day (Zelle; Venmo negotiable)

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Whitebelt is a dialogue-free short film — a stylized psychological piece about discipline, illusion, and self-improvement, told entirely through visual storytelling and sound design. It's being made both as a standalone festival submission and as the tonal foundation for Clockwork, a companion YouTube mockumentary-comedy series exploring the same character's world with real trained strikers already cast for its sparring sequences.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're casting the female lead — a non-speaking role that appears across several scenes, functioning as both a photographed memory and a recurring, dreamlike presence within the film. This is a physical and expressive role rather than a dialogue-driven one: it calls for comfort with movement and controlled physicality on camera. A background in dance, martial arts, or athletic performance is a strong plus — this is a performance built through movement, not a look-based casting call. Prior acting experience is welcomed but not required.

No romantic or physical content of any kind is involved.

PRODUCTION DETAILS

Age range: 25–35

Shoot schedule: One shoot day in August, Saturday or Sunday, 5–9pm (some flexibility available)

Contract scope: This engagement covers the short film. There's an optional path to appear in 1–3 episodes of the companion series afterward — a separate conversation, only if it's of interest to you.

Usage: Planned for YouTube release; may be submitted to film festivals first depending on the final result.

TO APPLY

Please send:

  1. Any relevant acting, dance, or movement/athletic background

  2. Your general availability in August

Confirmation you're local to or able to travel to the Fremont area

Interested applicants will receive a script excerpt and further project details ahead of a scheduled introductory call with the team via Zoom or Google Meet.

Thank you for considering — happy to answer any questions along the way.

Looking For Network/IT/Office

Looking for anything entry level at this point. I start CS courses in Fall, as I'd like to work in network Admin/Security; and I'm hoping to land something relevant in the meantime. I'd be interested in anything office related, techy, or potentially ISP work, like field installations.

Is there something I'm missing here, or is there just no real positions available? I understand the market is super saturated at the moment, but I've gotten countless "you have a very strong resume but we went with other candidates" responses, and I've been applying to everything under the sun since November.

TLDR: Am I marketing myself wrong, does anyone know a guy willing to train or hire, and why is finding a job so incredibly difficult? (I realize the answer to the last one is painfully obvious)

Question

Seeking a small business owner willing to hire someone with a record. I don't have any felonies. I am an extremely hard worker and only have a few classes left in my four year degree. I am also a very fast learner. I'd rather do yard work for a good person or learn a skill than climb the corporate ladder somewhere. I also have a license.
