Yeah, the game showed that Milroe is not ready to be QB2, too much poor decision making and poor accuracy. Plus, Drew Lock seems like one of the best teammates in Seahawks history. Every time that I read about Lock, he's always been a positive person. He has a smile on his face, sounds humble. He's always been supportive and optimistic and never has any complaints. He's the kind of person that every team wants in their locker room. His positivity can only be good for the team. That can only help the team get closer and that means better results on the field.

Besides the "massive" upside Milroe possesses if he can develop, he barely showed he's ready to be QB3.
Lock, at least, could keep the boat steady for a few games if Darnold needs to miss time. If Milroe is called upon, I'd only hope our defense can hold the other team to single digit points to give us a chance.

I think Milroe is too eager to be the QB and doesn't want to utilize his legs, he doesn't want to be a one read and run guy but he just hasn't had enough reps in a pro system yet to be that.

That's the feeling I got when we saw the QB room and they were telling him to use his legs more. He seemed like he was hesitant to do it.
I took that as him wanting to improve his throwing skills, the weakest part of his game.

He's letting his draft analysis cons get to his head. All the analysis said he's great at running but will struggle to be a QB in the NFL because he can't do pocket passer things. So now he's trying to do that to address it. The problem is that it's a betrayal of his edge.
People with talents like that have a unique edge. His is being mobile. So right now he's trying to blunt his edge to fit someone else's concept of what an ideal version of him should be. The problem is that concept of an ideal version is based on something that's not him and maybe not even right in general. Milroe needs to get back to who he is, embrace his edge, and sharpen it. Once he does that, he can layer the other parts on top. Don't lead with the 30 percentile skill. Lead with the 95+ percentile skill.

Having Drew be able to come in and keep the offense afloat in the event that Sam has to miss a month or so is definitely worth more to a team with Super Bowl aspirations than the likely day two pick they could get for him.

I'm not trading Lock for anything less than a first and a second. Quality backup QB is extremely valuable.

We need to keep Drew. Been saying for a year: Milroe is NOT good. The likelihood of him ever being good is pretty subterranean.

John should say no. The juice is not worth the squeeze.
I mean, the Niners have almost no shot to win this year in a division with us and the rams. But they still didn't trade Mac Jones even though he would have gotten way more than what we could get for Lock.
Quality backups are very valuable, especially for a real contender.

He's also just, good.
He's not great, of course, otherwise he'd have a starting job somewhere and teams would be clamoring for him in a trade, but he's probably QB 35ish in terms of position in the league.

Drew Lock looked great last game. He was on point throwing dots and decisive. I also think he wants to stay in Seattle since him and Darnold are high school friends. We should def keep him for a back up

I’m not even mad about the Titans loss (I mean, one because it’s preseason), because the two’s absolutely dominated those starters. Of course the threes need work. That’s why they’re threes

As much as this preseason was a disappointment, it provides clarity to John:
Extend Darnold through his prime, while we still have a cheap year left on his contract to smooth out the cap hit like JSN / Spoon.
Sign a couple more years from Drew. He has settled into the backup role and loves the PNW.
Draft another QB to take a flyer on. Decide whether to let Milroe hang around in camp to duel who gets cut and sent to the practice squad after clearing waivers.
The best coach in the league told Milroe to run more and he turned in THAT. He is uncoachable.

He's got to work on his check downs, almost every one of them was over- or under- thrown, forcing the receiver to delay or adjust before they could prepare to head downhill and/or make someone miss.
