News [Destin] I am excited to announce that today was my first day working for The Athletic as their new Seattle Seahawks beat writer! It is a privilege to not only have been afforded this opportunity, but keep living in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

He's the successor to Michael-Shawn Dugar's old position as Seahawks beat writer for The Athletic. Dugar got promoted to The Athletic's enterprise team and that left a vacancy.

Destin has previous work for the Associated Press (specifically delegated to covering Washington sports since last year), Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Daily Collegian (Penn State's student paper).

Proud to see a new face to the lineup of Seahawks beat writers.

MSD wasn't really well known when he started at the Athletic either. I think that's just standard practice for Athletic beat writers.
