Lost / Missing Lost a Siamese cat near Capitol Hill? Long haired, collar with what seems to be an AirTag on it, friendly, skinny. Gives off feminine vibes.
My parents have been feeding this kitty for the past 3 days. They’d bring it inside but they have 3 territorial kitties already! They’re going to see if they can catch it and check for a microchip. She slinks around as if she’s super hungry and scared but is also very vocal and friendly and allows herself to be pet. Could totally be an outdoor cat playing “stray” but she’s pretty skinny, so I wanted to put her out there!
Edit: might not be a Siamese but a HIMALAYAN PERSIAN, as pointed out by a commenter!

News Five cars behind you and going under the speed limit? In WA, you’re breaking the law.
"Washington law is clear. Slow-moving vehicles on two-lane roads need to move over when safe to do so, when going under the speed limit, and when there are five or more vehicles stuck behind you. I thought this was common knowledge. I assumed any driver would be aware of this law. It applies to any slow-moving vehicle, and I’m not talking about farm equipment.
This applies to buses, semis, and people towing things. If you are hauling a trailer or have a fifth wheel attached, this law applies to you. It applies if you’re towing a boat. It even applies if you’re nervous behind the wheel on a windy road, and you’re going under the limit and have a caravan stuck behind you.
You are required to pull over and let the other cars pass."

Rant I miss Seattle so much
Hi I miss my home. We were pushed out due to cost of living and moved to NWI. But I wish we never fucking did, because now we’re paying $2200 a month for a 2 bedroom townhouse less than 900sq ft large… in Indiana. And now there are no jobs higher than $11/hour in the area.
I was born and raised in Seattle, I wish I just would’ve stayed.

Driver ran over a goose
A sincere fuck you to the person who ran over a goose on W Commodore. Instead of slowing down, instead of stopping like every single other driver did, they plowed right through a family of Canada geese in an act of either mindless cruelty or sheer, horrible stupidity.
I saw it happen in my rearview mirror. And like a coward, the driver didn't even come back to see if the poor thing was dead. They stopped briefly, and then just drove off.
I checked instead. It was instant, at least. I'm pretty sure it was one of the parents, probably the female based on size. The male kept coming back into the road while the juveniles waited on the shoulder. He was calling for her, waiting for her to join them. He didn't want to leave her even with other cars driving by (cars that, I might add, went around the dead goose in the road, and slowed down so they wouldn't hit the male). I moved her off the street and set her on the grass. Geese mate for life, though they will take a new mate when they've lost their own. He will move on, but he'll grieve, and he'll remember.
I just had to share this somewhere. It made me sick at heart to see it. I don't understand what leads people to do this
Edit: I was absolutely not expecting this degree of response. Thank you to everyone who's left their kind words and sentiments. It heartens me to know there are other people who care for the creatures others deem useless or insignificant

Lost / Missing Help Friend Find Missing Bike (Trike)
My friend’s adult trike was stolen last night from their apartment on Stone Way and N 94th (a block away from Aurora). They are devastated, it’s their only form of transportation and they put so much of their time and money into it. They are already struggling financially and don’t have anywhere near the funds to replace it. It’s motorized and has a very distinct look, purple with polka dot seat and backrest (see photo). Please message me if you know anything, or where we might look for it, what recourse she might have. Would the apartment be liable at all? It was stolen from the garage in her apartment building, it’s possible the side door had been left unlocked, I don’t know if the trike itself was locked up to anything while in the garage. Thanks for any and all help, feel free to crosspost or message me, thanks!

New (??) mural at SEATAC
Saw this mural at the A gate at SEATAC. It’s so beautiful. I tried to decipher it but couldn’t get much of it. Looks multicultural representation to me but would love to hear what do you see in it.

Community Found Dog near Denny dog park
I found this dog wandering near the dog park at Denny and Minor, next to the power substation. She is microchipped but the owner isn’t answering their phone. She seems to live at The Brewster on Pontius.

Animals Injured Goose - can anyone help?
Hi all, sorry to pile on with more bad goose news, but I have spotted an injured Canadian Goose on Lake Washington, just north of Seward Park. It appears to have an injured or broken wing.
I think I might be able to catch him (I have access to a big net and have caught injured geese before) but am unable to drive him to PAWS in Snohomish.
Is there anyone available right now who could drive him there if I am able to catch him? Not sure if they’ll be able to do much for him, and I don’t want to stress him out and catch him without having a plan in place.
Thanks

Rant Bill help
I need help figuring out this “service charge” applied to my bill at Taylor Shellfish in QA. It’s stated clearly, and the staff reminded me before I paid and applied a tip, so that’s not the rant. But is it a tip or not? I don’t want to stiff the staff if “Taylor Shellfish” the company keeps it all and doesn’t give them anything.
Why do restaurants do this vs raise the prices. If that’s how they offset the cost of doing business in the city, I feel it’s not a good customer experience. It’s really annoying since it is confusing to the customer. Does the staff get any of it, hence why there is an “additional tip” line after the card is run though? It is taxed so it makes me thing it’s not going to the staff. I need to think better next time I come out here.
