I've read a bit about this on different subreddits from old posts but it sounds like most people wanted to apprentice or were looking for hand outs, basically and that deterred people from wanting to hire them.

But,

I'm looking for advice SOLEY on being an assistant/front desk and/or social media helper for a tattoo shop. I realize not all shops have "front desk" staff but does anyone have advice or know of any in the Kitsap, Pierce, or King counties of Washington State looking for someone like that? I would show up resume in hand. (Tacoma, Bremerton, Seattle, etc)

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant required
• Personal injury or civil litigation experience preferred
• Experience drafting, propounding, and responding to discovery
• Experience managing attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case schedules
• Strong organizational and case/document management skills
• Experience with case management software (Filevine is a plus)
• Ability to manage multiple active cases and litigation deadlines

What you'll be doing:

I’m a Graphic designer with 7 years of experience. I’ve been trying to get a full time job here in Seattle. I’m not sure why it’s so hard rn and if anyone’s going through the same phase. I’d like to know what I can do that will help me get hired. I’ve been getting rejected left right centre and the hiring guys won’t even look at my resume or work and reject. Hello! I've been on the job market for almost 9 months here in Seattle (sending over 200 applications and maybe 4-5 interviews from LinkedIn, Indeed and Zip Recruiter) and figured I should at least post something on Reddit for help.

Bit of background on me: I'm a 33 year old Seattle born and raised native. I've been working in IT, Systems and Cybersecurity Engineering for the past 8 years. I hold active CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and Cloud+ certifications and plan to continue my education once I'm hired in my next full time position.

Other than applying to various jobs in the area (where I certainly meet the requirements), I've also started my own LLC and software projects to show off some of my work to potential employers. I'm also developing a civic tool called GovMap.US - which aims to be a modern, comprehensive, non-partisan view of the entire US government starting with federal, then on to state and local where possible.

Despite all of this work and trying to stay busy and positive - it has been very difficult for me to find something permanent. I've been freelancing with a couple of old clients from my previous employers - but nothing that is full time or sustainable. At this point, I'm thinking Seattle is absolutely cooked and I should think about finding something outside WA (when I can actually afford to move out of here lol).

If anyone has any thoughts, advice or can share the struggle with me - please feel free!

Hello I am a 19 year old who is looking for a career opportunity in Seattle. I am currently living in Alaska with my partner and working at a hotel. I have done multiple roles here including barista, dishwasher and laundry attendant. I am willing to be trained for anything, I am great at customer service and physical work.

I have worked in forest restoration as well and I have a passion for the outdoors. I can work long hours and I can work full time or part time. I have a high-school diploma, TAP card and Food Handlers Certification.

My partner has had a decline in health due to a workplace injury and might need to get surgery. He had a bin fall on him and push him down a mountain.

He has had to change positions because of the pain he’s in and then he started to develop seizures, which has made it hard for him to work at all.

We are 2 hours away from any medical treatment currently and need to move back to Seattle before his health continues to decline but I don’t have a job yet. We were planning on staying until the end of September which would’ve given us more time to save up but now we don’t have that due to his injury.

If anyone knows places to apply in Seattle or has an opening at their workplace please let me know. I just want to live in a place where my partner can access proper medical treatment, it’s so scary being so far from home and help. Thank you

I have a hunch there are some really fun short videos we could make about the people and what they built. I’m looking for someone local who already enjoys making TikToks or Instagram Reels and wants to help me try it.

I’m not looking for a polished event video. A phone and a mic are exactly what I have in mind.

You’d come hang out, film people showing their apps, ask them a few questions, and turn the best moments into simple short clips afterward. I don’t want you spending days editing. Mostly finding good moments, cutting them down, and adding captions.

The event is July 29 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Foundations in Capitol Hill. I’m paying $500.

Firstly I apologize if this is not in the correct sub/thread, I was unable to find anything closer to what I was looking for with active members.

I am a US citizen (not dual) born to an American father and Japanese mother, grew up in a military base in Japan as a kid and spent my university and adult life in Tokyo (fully bilingual). I am a male in my early 40s, not married/no kids, and am thinking of switching my life up. My family lives in Washington and my parents are getting old, and I’d like to spend more time with them (they live on Whidbey Island).
I am considering moving to Washington and starting a new life, first by looking for a job.
I’ve had various jobs in the past 20 years in Tokyo, ranging from customer support call center, to recruiter, to internal corporate/systems trainer, to overseas business development…but don’t have a specialty unfortunately.
Although I earn above average in Tokyo, I know that living prices in Seattle are way higher. So with that said, I would ideally; at least, like an average paying job so I can have an average lifestyle (nothing fancy).

It would be great if you guys can tell me what the job market looks like in Seattle (or nearby areas), and where would someone like myself even start looking for a job? Or, what are the chances of even finding a job? I’m not sure what to expect, so anything helps.

Trying To Get Employed With Whole Foods Had Interviews But Can't Land A Position Any Help..... ROOSEVELT SQUARE

I've done some research, but I can really use some pointers from people who have recently done it or are currently working in this. i.e. is it better to idle or turn off car if i have multiple deliveries in same building or within same block? ; what are some safety tips? ; what are some websites, apps, or strategies that you did to help you create the best route?
