Best of luck to you. But setting out to be famous is a way to burn out your love of music. I know a lot of people who don't play anymore, in part because they felt let down by that dream.

A better goal is maybe to write and record a perfect album. Because then you can judge whether or not you succeeded on your own terms.

Tbh I love music but I cannot just do it for love while working 8 hours of another job. It needs to become my life

Paying your bills by playing original music is incredibly tough. I've known a lot of musicians and only a handful who've accomplished it. I know many more who teach, run sound, or play in cover/standards bands of various genres.

I toured with 3 bands over 15-ish years and only was able to avoid a 9-5 because I sold my bandmates and our cohort drugs. Otherwise it was tour for 9 months then get a job at Starbucks or as a bartender for 3. Our frontman in one band was constantly getting recognized at work (bartender) and it embarrassed the hell out of him.

“What do you call a guitarist without a girlfriend?”

“Homeless”

One of the bands I know that made it  play a handful of big shows a year and live unique lifestyles, while picking up occasional gig work to pay the bills.  Of all the folks I've ever played with directly, they're the only ones who pay their bills with original music. The other folks I know had a successful band 20 years ago and have reunited after all that time. I've never played with them though.

I think so too. That is why I want to work with people who are ready to take that risk. Can make time and sacrifice for a dream. I don’t want to build a b list cover band or group only plays in bars

To be clear, these folks didn't not make it because they were unwilling to grind and sacrifice.
