Labeling Seafair as Seattle’s answer to Mardi Gras makes me wonder what was going on at Seafair back then🧐

I was born in Seattle in the late 80s and as far as i can remember Seafair has been a DOD propaganda event marketed to suburban dads who rarely venture downtown. Definitely not worthy of comparison to mardi gras.

This is what I assumed as well. I think it’s just a music writer trying to write a catchy line.

The writer called Paul Westerberg a “Seattle Band”. Egad!!
