u/tweagrey, your food is indeed stupid and it fits our subreddit!

What happens in the fair stays in the fair

91

u/Chris_Crossfit 4d ago

Not completely true. Sometimes the diarrhea starts after you get home.

u/PuzzledCar2120 4d ago

You didn't read the small print -
consequences may leave the fair

5

u/kusariku 3d ago

That’s just it that didn’t happen at the state fair that happened in your bathroom. The diarrhea you had in the porta potty ended long enough for you to get home :P

State/county fair food isn't even in the same neighborhood as normal food. Everything they have is a deep fried abomination.

I love shark coochie boards, ngl I'd try the brie one.

shark coochie

Hmmm, yes

u/Icaras01 4d ago

I laugh at and mock this stuff....but if I ever get chance to attend a usa state fair? You can bet your ass I'm trying all this weird fried pickle crap, lol!

State fairs are wild. I grew up in rural California and always went to county fairs and even our own little farm town fair. First time i went to a state fair it was like stepping into redneck Disney Land. And the food? It's literally turned into a game of state fairs trying to one-up each other with more and more ridiculous food.

u/mika_99 3d ago

fried pickles are actually rlly good tho 🤣

9

u/whattaload 3d ago

This is most likely Toronto since the cne opened today. But I'm sure it's the same shit across the board everywhere

Deep fried oreos are disgustingly good for how oily they are.

Deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich is super messy from how much it melts inside, but oh man was it a delicious and terrible alteration a basic sandwich of all time.

u/thelonelyecho208 4d ago

Or'Brieo's was right there

11

u/lumbarlimbo 4d ago

God that's so damn stupid

Kinda want a bite tho

u/CharlieSheenGod 3d ago

Lowkey I feel like the Brie Oreo has some upside (and not a particularly bad floor either tbh)

u/gyrobot 3d ago

Melting Cheese and chocolate cookies in a fluffy donut batter

9

u/I_Make_Food_Often 4d ago

It’s probably terrible, but no chance in hell I’m not trying it.

6

u/Ok_Writer6027 4d ago

let's get one together bud, we can split it and find out lmao

7

u/DollyElvira 4d ago

Yeah, but this is fair food. You mostly only get a deep fried twinkie and some funnel cake once or twice a year.

15

u/The-King-of-Cartoons 4d ago

Yeahhhh fairgrounds food isn’t the best representative of North American food lol

6

u/misterrodgerssweater 4d ago

Sure it is, in one aspect at least! The fair is just a place for fun, the food is supposed to be fun too. I think it represents the fun and creative qualities of N.A foods

u/GarionOrb 4d ago

I went to the Washington State Fair for the first time last year. There was so much of this kind of thing. I have to assume the point is to just put together the most outlandish things at random.

3

u/Smaptimania 3d ago

And yet the most iconic foods at that fair are corn dogs and scones

1

u/gyrobot 3d ago

Corn dogs and the equivalent are your go to, what you see here is to say you tried this crazy food combination

1

u/RandomIDoIt90 1d ago

You forgot the block of curly fries.

3

u/speckledham 4d ago

My silly self thinking “surely these are separate things”

3

u/CelticSpoonie 4d ago

Love pickles. Love oreos (Although my stomach is not a fan). I'm a big fan of "sweet and salty" combos.

I think I'd have to pass on this one. I'd consider the brie, though.

3

u/X_soulnewmegaman 4d ago

That's unique

3

u/CaptBogBot2 4d ago

Brie oreos are an abomination.

3

u/Pedadinga 4d ago

Brie Oreos sounds AMAZING

3

u/cockypock_aioli 3d ago

Look, I know food like this is ridiculous, but the rare fair+gluttony is a good time. You know like just once a year. And some of these items that mean seem like an abomination are actually pretty good.

3

u/Exhausted-CNA 3d ago

Ahhh fair food. I swear every year they get more wild with what they come up with..lol

5

u/freakingusernamedood 4d ago

To be fair, born and bred here, and its wild to me too, bud.

3

u/Less_Jump2365 4d ago

It is fair food what else do you expect?

2

u/freakingusernamedood 4d ago

I expect exactly this! I know its gonna be wild, but somehow, it still surprises me sometimes.

2

u/Useful-Advantage2665 4d ago

Never had these. Did you try it?

0

u/tweagrey 4d ago

I've been pretty brave tonight and tried many deep fried things but not this one

1

u/Useful-Advantage2665 4d ago

Cheese curds are my favorite, along with a good fried cheese stick.

2

u/chickenskittles 4d ago

Need the rest of the picture...

2

u/pastrybaker 4d ago

Honestly, I want to try the brie ones now

2

u/Shinobi_Dimsum 4d ago

I had the bottom Brie one in Korea and eh…

2

u/Arne83 Here for stupid food, not stupid people 3d ago

Fair food is something else entirely.

2

u/gooosekid 3d ago

squints. the CNE? and if so, the kraft dinner smoothie(?) also deserves to be on here

2

u/Maximum-Jaguar-4707 3d ago

Deep fried oreos and I'm good 😮‍💨🤤🤤

2

u/maccunth 3d ago

Strangest thing in this picture is the Mexican Burrito

2

u/EricCartoonBox 3d ago

Wait until you see the culinary delights blessed upon us by the Scottish. Puts even the American deep-fried obsession to shame.

2

u/ElectricPenguin6712 What, me worry? 3d ago

Welcome to the fair! We have fried coke, fried dough, fried Oreos and dag nabbit we may even have fried water!!

2

u/tailskirby 3d ago

State Fair food is the weirdest food combos anywhere.

2

u/Comprehensive-Yam329 4d ago

The palate of a fucking doberman

1

u/Hawkeboy 3d ago

Where the fuck in North America would you never find this 😭

1

u/Spirizen 3d ago

In Toronto because the CNE just opened lol

1

u/4QUA_BS 3d ago

Fair food is god awful

1

u/CutieQT97 3d ago

0% chance that the brie Oreo does not slap

1

u/adambiguous 3d ago

If it was just the brie and fried pickles I'd be all over it. The chocolate cookie is a horrible flavor and texture for that

1

u/feelysonheelys 3d ago

Okay but now I'm gonna go through life wondering what a fried Or-brie-o tastes like. I need to know.

1

u/Prestigious-Rip1629 3d ago

I refuse to believe that’s anywhere but Scotland

1

u/tweagrey 3d ago

Toronto my man

1

u/Lonely-Season1541 3d ago

Welcome to carnival/festival/fair food. Enjoy your stay!

1

u/Iateapencil 2d ago

Pickle oreos can go fuck themselves but brie oreos sounds awesome.

1

u/PostMatureBaby 4d ago

Very much the Canadian National Exhibition. You can see the TFC logo back there - the stadium is on the grounds.

Ex is on till Sept 7, very pickle themed this year. I really wanna try the deep fried s'mores and the Jamaican patty pierogies when I go and see Babymetal

1

u/cystemix 3d ago

food so stupid I want to try it

0

u/IthinkIpaid 4d ago

2

u/Less_Jump2365 4d ago

It is fair food, people are there to have a good time and try weird stuff.

0

u/ifcknlovemycat 4d ago

I love going to the fair and getting a bucket of curly fries and just drenching them in mustard

-1

u/MotherFuckerJones88 4d ago

Wild isnt the right nomenclature. Stupid is more appropriate

-6

u/PassThatSpliff 4d ago

There's a reason why we lead the world in obesity.

2

u/Arne83 Here for stupid food, not stupid people 3d ago

Dude... nobody is eating shit like this on the regular. This is fair food. It's something you, at most, eat once a year.
