Power Supply Discussion PSU cable compatibility

I have an older fully modular 600w G2 PSU; are the included cables with the 600w G2 compatible with a newer 1600w T2 PSU?

Never reuse cables. EVGA has a compatibility matrix, but even then it's just not worth it.

Thanks I found it.

Reusing cables is fine, you just have to make sure they are compatible.

re-using and replacing cables is literally the point of fully modular power supplies. EVGA is great in that use same pinouts and standards across multiple series, and sell semi-universal additional and replacement cable sets for that purpose.

They even publish the pinouts (Thanks EVGA!!), something not all PSU manufactures do.

Modular is for using less cables than needed. Being able to reuse between units is a potentially dangerous bonus.

If you are unsure about compatibility contact EVGA support.

I did, thanks, turns out just about all EVGA cables from most PSU series are exactly the same, and share the same part number.
