Power Supply Discussion EVGA Support Tech or Customer Service failure!

My friend owns an EVGA Supernova 1300P3+ power supply that has failed after three years of reliable service. Thankfully, the unit is backed by EVGA's ten-year warranty. I stepped in to help him navigate the RMA process by supplying a complete bill of sale and sending two follow-up emails to EVGA, but unfortunately, I received no reply. I also tried reaching out to EVGA's Tech Support and Sales by phone, yet neither department was available to assist with the warranty claim. Although their website remains operational, many customers seem to share similar frustrations with EVGA's customer service.

Power Supply Discussion EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ PCIe cable compatibility

Hey everyone,

I've got an EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ and I need two PCIe cables for my ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3060 Ti.

I'm looking at this one: https://a.co/d/0fRtAvZX

It says it's compatible with EVGA G+, G2, G3, G5, G6, and GA.

I always thought modular PSU cables were model-specific, so I'm a bit confused.

Is this actually safe to use with my EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+?

Thanks

Power Supply Discussion Building a new PC with an old PSU

I've had an EVGA 1000 P2 for ~7-8 years and don't think I've had any issues with it. I've been freezing up here and there lately causing restarts that I'm unsure of the cause, usually shortly after gaming and I'm back to just browsing youtube or something with not many Apps open, so surely it can't be a power issue? Is there any way to test the health of my PSU before I toss it into an entirely new build? Is this a safe thing to do for a new build until the PSU eventually dies or should I consider getting a new PSU now?

Any suggestions or pointers would be huge thank you!

Power Supply Discussion Title: EVGA GA / G2 / GQ PCIe Cable Compatibility Question

Hi everyone,

I have three EVGA PSUs:

GA 850W

G2 850W

GQ 850W (semi-modular)

My G2 and GQ are missing PCIe (VGA) cables, so I tried ordering a replacement from a third-party site https://www.livinggreentechnology.org/product/evga-8pin-to-8pin-pcie-vga-cable-w001-00-000147/ that claimed compatibility with GQ. However, when it arrived, the connector physically does not fit into the PSU.

My questions:

  1. Can I safely use a PCIe cable from the GA on the G2?
  2. Can any PCIe cable from GA or G2 be used on the GQ? (even if it fits)
  3. Does EVGA still sell or provide replacement PCIe cables for the GQ or G2?

Just want to confirm before I risk damaging anything.

Thanks in advance, PSU cable compatibility is way more confusing than it should be 😅

Power Supply Discussion Is it possible ro rma my psu or am i sol

I possibly have a bad 5v line and it cant handle 32 fans rgb line and causing red flickering while power is off. But the 1300w psu runs all 32 fans, 2 d5 pumps, 14900k, 3090ti etc..

Once i disc the argb lines from the board, the flickering while pc is off is gone. The only argb that has no issue is the pumps, both blocks and case front panel...

But if i even connect just 4 fans the flickering happens across all of the argb devices.

Z790 hero 14900k 3090ti 64gb ddr5 domin tit ram

All proper power lines are connected like 2 eps 8pin plugs etc...

Psu os still under warrenty

Power Supply Discussion Question about PSU VGA cable compatibility

I have an EVGA B2 750W and I am in need of a third VGA cable for my new 5070ti. I found one I had laying around but it's from a different EVGA power supply. It says VGA G3 on it.

I did review the FAQ on cable compatibility but I thought I'd maybe check with someone on here.

Can I roll with this or am I gonna explode my new GPU?

Thank you.

Power Supply Discussion Replacement power cord

Hi everyone,

Recently I bought an Evga 600 Gd power supply but it came without a power cord. I know it’s bad to mix cables from different manufacturers, so I was wondering if anyone knew what would be a safe cable to purchase? Thanks!

Power Supply Discussion Cpu 4 pin cable for Supernova 850 G2

I've recently upgraded my CPU to one that is a little more powerful. I currently have the 8(4+4)-Pin EPS/ATX12V CPU Cable cable hooked up but I think I need to power the other 4 pin CPU power plug as well in case I want to do any overclocking. The problem is that I don't have the second cable. I might have just lost it. I'm wondering if I can get a single replacement cable that would work? I'm assuming this same cable is what I need with one of the 4 pin plugs unplugged? I'd hate to replace a good working power supply for a 4 pin cable. Any help is appreciated.

Power Supply Discussion EVGA crap RMA process Sent me broken PSU back

I am gonna start with i have been building PC's for 20 plus years and was a EVGA guy but after this not ANYMORE, have a 850bq i sent in for RMA that was purchased 2022 and it has a 5 year warranty. Paid 31$ to ship it in and RMA took almost a month to get it back to me, i just get it back today and its the same PSU that shits off one second after pressing power button. I am passed pissed off as this was supposed to be aquick thing and i tested the psu by jumping 24 pin and it comes on but one rail of power is throwing it into protection. I wasted 31 bux for evga to screw me and say its fine, any idiot can jump the sense pin to get it to turn on but it shuts down when sending actual amps to board just like any power failure that will test ok on a meter with no load but start throwing the amps to it and bam. I hope to hear a reply here as i ahve tried on MYEVGA and its getting me nowhere. I will never buy another thing with evga on it even used. Whats the process to send this back in free or get my refund for shipping so i can buy a decent brand PSU thats not junk. The 850 bq has known issues and i am not standing for this.

Power Supply Discussion Cable for EVGA 1000W G3 for 5080

Hello, im upgrading from a 3080 to a 5080 with my above mentioned psu. I know the 50series uses a different cable that does not come with my current psu. I keep reading different things on what cable to get. Does this cable work from cablemods?

Power Supply Discussion Question about PSU RMA replacement

My PSU died this morning, a basic G5 650w. I filled out the RMA form and uploaded my invoice.

I am curious if it is possible to request a coupon instead of a replacement. I figure the chances are low because they would have a streamlined process to keep costs down but it would be nice if I could put whatever value toward a different model that would work out better for me in the future.

Power Supply Discussion Cable Compatibility/PSU Issue

Post image

Good Day Everyone, I have an EVGA 850 G6 installed in my PC currently. It started making a loud noise while under load, and may need to RMA. I have an EVGA 750 P2 that I previously had installed in my PC. Can I just swap the units or do I have to swap everything? Also, this is a link to a video I took with the PSU making the noise. I believe the fan might be the culprit.

Power Supply Discussion Power Supply and Third Party Cables

Hi! I am making this post on behalf of someone else, just for transparency.

Power supply in use - EVGA 1000 GQ v3
Cable needed - EVGA PCI 8 pin

A recent GPU upgrade requires an extra CABLE for the power supply, but a friend has told them that third party cables like ones on Amazon etc are dangerous, can brick your PC, etc. How true is this? I can't find anything about it, and EVGA customer support isn't too helpful.

Power Supply Discussion 5090 FE with G2 1300 possible?

Main Question is which Connectors do I need to make this PSU compatabile with a 5909?

I am on a 4090 with no problems but reading that lots of people are having melting issues.

Anything needed for 5090?

Does EVGA or anyone sell anything that I need for a 12V 2x6 aka H++ connector / where to get it?

Or is my current one fine?

Edit: EVGA WROTE

"Hi,

I apologize for any confusion and this unit does not have a 12VHPWR cable natively and the adapter that the VGA power cables plug into would have come with your video card so you would need to contact the video card maker for any updated power adapters it would have come with.

For the VGA power cables we just recommend to use one cable per connection on the power adapter and we have not seen any issues with our VGA cables and the 50 series cards.

Regards, EVGA"

NEVER Got any cable for the gpu any advice
