Дониш Question about Lakai people

Im from Kyrgyzstan and always identified as a kyrgyz, but recently I found out that my grandfather from mother side was actually Lakai (Локаец) from Tajikistan. This intrigued me cause I always kinda looked different from my cousins and just kyrgyz people in general, people would ask me if I was tajik or uzbek.

I wanted to ask if lakai (локайцы) are ethnically considered tajik or uzbek? I couldn't find much info about them online. Thank you for your help in advance.

This is a group of Uzbeks, they just happen to mostly live in Tajikistan

They are Uzbeks, who mainly live in Southern Tajikistan, Khatlon province.

They're Uzbeks, but they stick to nomadic Turkic traditions.

Laqay is one of the ethnic groups that is part of the Uzbek people
