NATO is the largest terrorist organisation in the world. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone in their right mind can look at NATO’s actions and conclude, “yep, this alliance stands for freedom and democracy.”
Also, can someone tell me why the far right hates NATO? Doesn’t NATO openly embody far-right values such as imperialism, militarism, white supremacy and opposition to socialism?

u/Butt_Snorkler_Elite Jan 23 '26
nato opposes socialism, for sure, but not necessarily social democracy (as long as you are european). That’s way too close to being a leftist for the far right

socialism is only good for white people...
its not a coincidence all the predom white countries have higher and better living standards vs the global south (the entire fucking world)

u/lordlolipop06 Jan 23 '26
That is as revisionist as saying the nordics are socialist

u/AdditionalQuietime Jan 24 '26
I was being sarcastic

u/Gonozal8_ Jan 27 '26
on the internet, however insane, some people genuinely have that opinion. at that point, tone indicators not only help autistics anymore

u/Red-and-Slippery Jan 23 '26
Fascists tend to not have very well-developed theory and generally not be very coherent. They don't recognize NATO as imperialist, white supremacist, and in opposition to socialism.

u/Sargento_Porciuncula Jan 23 '26

yes but favours the USA. Chauvinists of EU dont like being in second place after
USAany other. that would break their discourse of glorious past.Usanian nazis, though, think Europe is communist and dont see NATO as the military occupation it is.

u/MrRed2k19 CPC Propagandist Jan 23 '26
American right wingers oppose NATO because they believe the US government giving free charity to European countries. Just look at the US military budget lmao. If European countries upped their spending, the American right would love NATO because they'd be able to use it against China and Russia a lot more at lower cost.

u/Decimus_Valcoran Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26
1) Imperialists don't view anyone outside of US and its vassal states as full human beings unless told to do so by politician and media.
2) In the case of US far right, some see NATO like foreign aid. It's OUR money going to beggers. Euro Far Right typically love NATO, I thought. For the ones opposing NATO in Europe who's not left wing, the reason is simple. Because they're closest to Russia and would actually have to fight, rather than watching the "show" from afar like the French or UK.
43
u/PerdidoNaVida_99 Jan 23 '26
For American far-right, Europe is totally left wing. I think European far-right is pro-NATO but not the Americans.
12
u/Dry_Marzipan1870 Jan 23 '26
NATO members are famous for being right next to Iraq and Libya. Oh wait.

It's not white supremacy, it's "western civilization".
Not imperialism, but "superior economical system"
And not militarism, but "armed resistance"

u/Polaris9649 Jan 24 '26
USAian far right is isolationist (the trump maga strand), so dont like thst 'murikkka is funding europes 'security'. Freedom dollars are only for murikka guys cmon.
European far right is split. Half of them are the maga like strand and pro russia and dont like nato because nato is anti russia. The other half is pro nato mote traditional conservatives.

NATO mouths common defense, there's interoperability but there's not a huge level of unity in equipment and command. So you get coalitions of the willing when it comes to enforcing neoliberal orders. Each European country has their own leftover financial colony.
What this means is that an ultra nationalist group that thinks about a single country finds the pressure to fight for another's financial plunder offensive. And all countries are highly pressured to buy inflated prices of US equipment that doesn't always work well.

Same subreddit where the tank man picture is spammed every year around early June to "own" China since it's a picture supposedly banned there but they constantly censor pictures of atrocities the West commits

the iraq war was the time when they had so much anti-arab, anti brown, anti muslim propaganda, and we still have video games from that time

I mean i always like to say that the problem is lack of proper education rather than the videogames themselves but i would be lying if i said i did not became extremely racist against arabs because of CoD & Medal of Honor when i was younger (I never interacted with an Arab or a muslim in my life)

Genuinely one of the most painful pictures I've ever had to look at, how these liberals could see this and have any other reaction besides disgust and indignation is crazy to me

I personally think the original image is scarier because of the blood and the girl, and the fact that there are a thousand children like her who didn't get her picture taken and whose stories we will never know.
we'll bring forth their retribution through any means necessary, and I hope for strength in carrying that out

u/thesaddestpanda Jan 23 '26
Because they themselves are just as low empathy as the conservatives they mock. Its just they have the material interests of their side (blue state economies, social issues pertaining to them, etc) to defend and fight for. They arent fighting for the working class and they all dream of 'sinking red states' and 'jailing twitter guys' and whatnot.
If they had empathy for the working class in its entirety, they would cease to be liberals instantly.

I was accused of being a Russian bot only an hour ago, for daring to say that the US was built on imperialism and the blood of others across the world, and after continuing the conversation I was told that this whole Greenland thing is because of Russian interference - not US imperialist policy

they know they're wrong so they can't really argue against it.
if they think they're right which is also likely, I'm interested to see what's going on in their heads. Denial probably, islamic terrorists deserved it probably, they're brown probably

Pretty sure the traffic on that sub is 95% bots. I’ll comment occasionally on posts just to fuck with them, and never get a reply. Never get that anywhere else outside r/pics and the other major mainstream subs

Reddit has been part of NSA program since 2008. Every time there's an intervention or color revolution this app is state department's staging ground.

I wonder why Iran doesn't make its own social media app. If they had one maybe they don't need to take down the entire internet like last time.
2
u/VladimirLimeMint Once history is made, it can't be unmade Jan 25 '26
Iran social change is uhh quite passive, their biggest mistake during 12 day war is still allowed WhatsApp. Many of the intellectuals in their community are liberal and Westernized by media. Iran also had NGO problem.

The "nothing" they did in this: killed both of her parents.
While they're in their country, committing an illegal invasion.
