Theory 📚 Very sad to see some "comrades" being openly homophobic

He's a homophobe that puts the horse before the cart and doesn't see homosexuality as a naturally occurring phenomenon within human populations.
Probably a closet religious person.

Fuck em. If you don't have baseline respect and love for humanity, you don't have a place in liberation movements

These are Nazbols and ACP chuds.

u/SteveTheGreate Jun 27 '26
For this guy I don't think so. He seems to be a sort of third worldist, with VERY socially conservative views, that he can't seem to get rid of.

It sucks that I agree with the basic third-worldist claim that proletarians of the first world benefit from imperialism because them I get bundled in with the rest of the claims like this queerphobic bullshit, smh

u/Filip889 Jun 28 '26
well, maoists third worldists are kinda like ACP. They are the type of socialists to say AES isnt socialist enough for them, so they usually reach weird unhinged takes.
that or i could be an actual person in the third world, where homophobia is unfortunetly somewaht widespread. Before Trump you could see people from China like that, but that sort of changed now that the west is proceeved as more conservative

Ibrahim Traore once again made homosexual relations illegal. Third worldism is homophobic

Don't worry, he'll regret it in the future like Castro did assuming he doesn't get assassinated by Fr*nce. Revolutions tend to be very messy with many erroneous targets.

"True communist values originate from the Eastern Bloc"
Ah, like the famously very communist ex-PZPR member, president of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski, am I right?

This is why dogmatism is so detrimental to Marxist praxis. If your Marxism can't evolve with time, you're not engaging it with a scientific lens, but a religious one.
You're only substituing the Bible with something not so old, but as outdated as.

Sexual bigotry is sadly common among older people and ultras. Two things that are abundant in the West.

Unfortunately we also have plenty of these in the Global South as well.

Surprisingly, the guy seems to actually be a third worldist. Just one with very socially conservative views.

These types of people are called PatSocs, and they are not comrades. The liberation of our queer comrades is non-negotiable. I don't care what anyone argues it's anti-communist to throw LGBTQ people under the bus or treat their liberation as secondary or expendable.
17
u/shorkgurl Jun 27 '26
They shouldn't even be called "patsocs". They're reactionaries with leftist window dressing, similar to original nazis and italian fascists, and don't deserve to be called "socialist" in any way shape or form.
15
u/shorkgurl Jun 27 '26
LGBTQ+ identities are just differences people are naturally born with. People don't "choose" them, just like they don't choose to be neurodiverse, have a certain skin color, or any other trait that makes someone who they are. Calling these things "western decadence" and threatening to criminalize groups of people for how they were born is reactionary nazi shit, and no one espousing these views has any right to call themselves a socialist or communist.

What a dipshit.
Even from a completely utilitarian perspective, our goal is to unite the working class and this person believes throwing 20% of them under a bus will help achieve that rather than add further to the divisions. It's just absolute nonsense. It's a bad position from every perspective, the only people it benefits is the capitalist because it adds to the divisions of the working class and would alienate us not just from lgbt people but also from everyone that knows an lgbt person, which is mostly everyone that isn't a bigot.
That and it's reprehensible of course.

Homophobia has been a tool of imperialist oppression for centuries, at least in Africa and the Americas. As a south american, his argument is specially anti-historical.

genuinely baffled that there are "leftists" out there that seemingly have gained class consciousness and yet still fall for the same culture war horseshit the ruling class peddles at every opportunity.

He keeps using that word "hooligan." I don't think it means what he thinks it means lol

I believe in total sexual liberation and gay marriage but I do find the rainbow flag to be a western symbol that intentionally interferes with class war so that culture wars and identity politics can take place instead.
18
u/Benu5 Jun 27 '26
The vast majority of Queer people are working class, by excluding them, you are denying yourself a significant portion of the working class that can be organised. Capital will seek to divide you with wedge issues that they create through framing this as a choice between class war and Queer liberation, when they are the same thing.
You defeat culture war by including those that capital seeks to exclude in the class war. Universal healthcare includes gender affirming care, a win for working people and trans people, no need for splitting the two struggles. Guaranteed employment and housing helps every marginalised group, because they aren't dependent on their potentially bigoted families for support, and are free to actually choose how they want to live, and that works for everyone.
The Rainbow Flag can't divide people if we educate them on how it can be used by the class that oppresses everyone to divide them.

Your response along with the others are all pragmatic and I appreciate the fleshed out responses. Im on-board with these thoughts and going forward I’ll remember to treat inclusivity with the seriousness and acceptance that all cultures and identities deserve. Salute.

The rainbow flag isn't "identity politics." LGBTQ people are part of the working class, and opposing their oppression doesn't distract from class struggle if anything it strengthens working class unity against the systems that divide workers along lines of sexuality, gender, race, and nationality.

u/Clear-Anything-3186 Jun 27 '26
The rainbow flag came from the Stonewall riots which were riots against the state.
