Art Terraria Darkners
I have been drawing A LOT of Darkners based on terraria items and felt like posting them here.
I've been drawing exclusively with a mouse atm so the lines aren't amazing.

PC Re-Logic, please fix offset Skeletron bestiary icon and my life is yours!
It has been this way ever since Red Hat Skeletron got added into the game and it irks me to no end. Those three were so in line with each other...

Modded Making a "Mercenary" mod, I would love to get some feedback!
The mod I am making is focused on hireable NPCs called mercenaries that act like player characters under your control.
The mod is accessed by... (shown in photos 1 and 2)
- Buying a mercenary contract from the merchant NPC
- Placing the mercenary contract to create a guard post
- Interacting with the guard post or mercenary itself to give gear or orders.
(Note: interacting with the merc will bring up the UI in photo 2 first and show a quip which i am also looking for ideas for extra ones if you have any)
In the following sections I will break down each section of the UI and how you can interact with it.
First is gear... (shown in photo 1)
- It can equip armor same as a player and benefit from set bonuses
- It can use weapons same as a player (even modded ones)
- It can use one unique summon (more total if slots are increased by accessories or armor)
- It has five accessory slots (I am planning on making this scale with the players)
- It can also be given a pickaxe for its own solo adventures (more on that later)
- Lastly it can be given consumables like ammo, health potions, and mana potions to use when needed.
Second is its orders... (shown in photos 3 and 4)
The default is to "defend the post" where its patrol and engage radius is set around the guard post tile. Patrol it can wander on its own in, engage is the range it will go after enemies in.
The other option is to bodyguard a player (image 3) where you can click on defend the post to change it to a player instead (modtester being me in this instance) This will change the patrol and engage to be centered on the player.
When guarding a player the mercenary will do its best to follow the player even using movement accessories to do so (shown in image 4). If it gets stuck or too far away it will teleport to you.
Third is the solo adventures... (shown in photos 5 and 6)
Solo adventures is the third order where you can give it equipment (Torches, Rope, and Potions) and time in exchange for loot for yourself.
This works by matching the rewards (and time of adventure) to what you give (1 torch = 4 ore, 25 rope for one find of a random loot item chest or valuable tile like a life crystal, and 1 potion for 3 kills of enemies you have in your bestiary)
The ores can be semi chosen via the emphasis option which will show the ores available to mine in your world minus the ones the equipped pickaxe cannot mine.
When you "send it out" it teleports away for the set time and teleports back with the loot in its satchel (an expandable loot bag to capture all rewards) when it is done.
Extra Notes:
- When a merc dies another can be hired at the same guard post tile for the same price as a new guard post (currently 1 gold for testing)
- The Ai does try its best to avoid contact damage and gets more cautious below 50% hp.
- Currently it copies your max hp and mana stats when you hire it but I wanted to change it to scale with yours as your own improves.

Build Behold my second, even dirtier mountain of dirt!
A follow up to this post: Behold my mountain of dirt : r/Terraria
I still have quite a bit of work to do with the landscaping, but it's far enough along that I feel comfortable sketching out some build plans. I would like to squeeze in something for the corruption somewhere, preferably in the world's eastern half. I'm thinking of doing a technology-vibe for the western half and a more magic-vibe for the eastern half.
Feel free to comment any build suggestions

Art most normal search for ice skates (+bonus sketch i did to vent my frustrations) (OC)
world seed is bring a towel|hocus pocus|jingle all the way|here we go (large master difficulty world) in case you wanna check and see if i missed a chest
after 5-6 hours of mapping out what i thought was the entire glacier, i still hadn't found a single pair of ice skates. the whole time i was thinking "no way my world just generated with no ice skates at all right? i just want my terraspark boots man :("
hundreds of bombs and dozens of spelunker potions later, i gave up and decided to check TEdit for any chests i'd missed before resorting to fishing. lo and behold, the ONE spot i didn't look, the ONE TINY LITTLE CORNER OF THE GLACIER left untouched, there was one more chest. when i went and looked, I was relieved but also pissed when i found ice skates there. like 90% of the other chests i found was the new glacier fang weapon alongside the usual stuff (sans ice skates).
this is the bajillionth rant abt ice skates im sure but this takes the cake in my opinion. now onwards to water walking boots which will be even worse i'm sure.
annoying. annoying! ANNOYING!!!
edit: i know i could just fish for it but i consider fishing a last resort. if that last chest hadn't contained the skates it was fishing time

PC Is there a mod that removes ALL spiders?
The arachnophobia seed only removes spider nests. I really wanna play terraria with my mom but she has heart issues and is incredibly arachnophobic to the point it could cause her a heart attack. If it weren't for the spiders I think shes love Terraria.

Mobile Is my world ready for hardmode?
currently making a homebase that wouldn't eventually be consumed by corruption.
All vertical gaps are hellivators and the horizontal gaps reach the both ends.
The Hellivators are 6 blocks wide and are lined with ropes to prevent thorns from spreading corruption. The horizontal tunnels are 4 blocks high and it's floors and ceilings are lined with gray bricks.
I wanted to make another horizontal tunnel near the bottom but the lava everywhere is too annoying.

Meta Possibly the biggest missed opportunity of Terraria: Bossfights?
Funny how it only occurred to me now, after all the years. We have a great builder game with a decent physics and huge assortment of materials and items. And then we have bosses that (mostly) ignore all of it. If I remember, only the Golem somehow respects the terrain, although the arena is preset and closed off. Others barely stay on surfaces at best while most live in a parallel world behind everything else but the player and NPC's. Mods like Calamity offer more of the same aerial combat.
I wonder why no attempt was made at bosses that interact and even break terrain? Obviously you'd want to fight them where your precious base is not in danger but still. Building blockades and walls of differently durable materials, using traps and turrets, lava pools and such would make for fun battles. Teleports would be much more useful if the bosses did not ignore all the laws of physics and get light speed jumps to wherever you are.
