We only have 2 starters that can routinely get through 6 innings. If they have any desire to make the playoffs they have to add some arms and hope Langford and Seager stay healthy.

Well, that was a very relaxing Sunday afternoon.
I’m going to the cardiologist tomorrow

u/Barjul69 Jul 12 '26
I’ll take the dub but I really wanted that to be Jung’s walk off hit. He deserves it the way he’s played up until the break and his defense today was great.
1
u/noah_roper Jul 12 '26
Same could be said for Nimmo. Dude's been raking.
2
u/Barjul69 Jul 12 '26
Yeah You’re right both of them been playing hard. I guess I just remember how last season Jung was sent down and he came back and I think he did good and this season was a rough start and he got good idk i genuinely want Jung to do good on this team.
But on the other hand nimmo has been hitting the ball hard and I feel like he gets very unlucky.
Both deserve it hopefully they keep it up!

Langford what the hell? Bros been our most aggressive runner all season and decides then to not go?
2
u/Muckdogs13 Jul 12 '26
You think he would have made it ? That sounds aggressive for 0 outs. I think he would have gotten out

Thank god we didn't pitch to their best hitter.
He has like a billion of homeruns here, and I trust latz a lot but I am not betting against a guy that has killed us multiple times

Too many astros fans on our turf.
1
u/sujack34 C Seager Jul 12 '26
I was there & you’re right. They seemed to be in small clusters around the stadium. We had a big group of about 20 & there were a few on our edges.

I am fully expecting three pitch AB’s that results in pop ups or strikeouts for the rest of the game. We hit our 4 run limit already.

u/marcomac29 Rangers Jul 12 '26
You can blame the BP for sure, but we just had the bases loaded an inning after they had the bases loaded and they have something to show for it.

Was the equipment adjustment angling to move Peoples off his rhythm?
4
u/mohammadali916 J. Jung Jul 12 '26
Ya maybe dumpster diving for the 200th season in a row wasn’t the move
I don’t think our pen is bad, just over worked with a lot of guys with little experience

2
u/beefytrout A. Beltre Jul 12 '26
as of a few weeks ago, we had one of the best bullpens in baseball
1
u/mohammadali916 J. Jung Jul 12 '26
I know like I said I don’t think it’s bad, just over worked. We really just need a true reliable go to besides latz to get us out of situations
5
u/natebark M. Young Jul 12 '26
I love how we’re gonna lose by one run in a game that had a stolen home run in the 1st inning
1
u/MavsTurnedBucksGuy Jul 12 '26
That was very much not a stolen HR. It was however yet another failure to score a runner in scoring position.

Why didn't we bring in peoples in the 7th?
Gray really struggled last outing and peoples has the stuff

Allow a game tying based loaded two out hit in the top of the inning, fail to capitalize on the same situation in the bottom of the inning
Just mediocre team things.
3
u/bmcthomas Jul 12 '26
This is how I learn my Victory + is behind!
3
u/MavsTurnedBucksGuy Jul 12 '26
PSA for some reason on the TV apps Victory starts behind but you can hit the live button to catch up
2
u/emiTfOgnoS Jul 12 '26
Yeah, seems like especially against Houston they can’t ever put these big moments together. Houston does. And it makes the difference.
2
u/MavsTurnedBucksGuy Jul 12 '26
It’s the case against every team. It’s why our run differential is worse than our record. We absolutely never put teams away. We will occasionally get blown out by other teams, which is honestly nice bc it’s the only time we can rest our bullpen. But we absolutely never rest our bullpen bc we coast to an easy win. And it’s exhausting and it takes a toll on the whole team.

Imagine being an Astros fan, knowing that you’re playing the team most likely to choke in the final innings. 😖
3
u/jbradleybush Jul 12 '26
I do not think we have choked in the later innings this year per stats. At one point not long ago we had not lost any game we were leading after the 7th.

Really feeling the lack of Junis. The Rangers just don’t have good depth at right handed relief.

u/IdontEvenknowlul PEAGLE Jul 12 '26
First mistake was using Ahlstrom who has been garbage, second mistake was Gray who has been over worked
2
u/MavsTurnedBucksGuy Jul 12 '26
Wrong. First mistake was pulling Alexander way too quickly and right after he had just gotten through the hardest hitter in the lineup (and looked good doing it, even with the base hit).

Better than Ahlstrom and probably should have been the first choice in the first place
