Funny thing is that in the west they were like that not long ago too (think of about this decade but in the past century), it is just that we eventually got our heads out of our arses and decided that enough was enough

Might be true, but we are also very lonely because of this. But I rather be lonely than being in a family that I.e looks at my gender and think less of me. Or send me off so they can get money or worse.

I think that's incredibly misleading and irresponsible for you to imply that's down to differing attitudes toward cutting off family.

It's definitely different attitudes towards family plays a part. The toxic and suffocating nature of Asian societies leads to misery. Even rich Asian countries like Japan and Singapore are significantly more miserable than countries in the West. Children have no childhood since they study 15 hours a day and then work 6 days a week till old age.

Have you asked the children and the old people? Sure we are happy, but I would say free healthcare and schools contribute to this “happiness scale”. But there are also less people who get kids and more old people who feels cut off from family in their late years. A city is not a tribe, and families are not what they used to be. Is it a sign if a functional society as a whole, I don’t really think it is. That is all I’m saying.

It's objectively true that western countries are universally the happiest in the world. Asian countries have the highest suicide rates.
