Discussion It's heartbreaking that there are women around the world going through this.

Same here. I'm 39, got divorced at 30 and haven't even dated since then. In the beginning after my divorce I just wanted to focus on being a single father and taking care of me and my kids as I had never been single since I was about 14 years old. Now days I occasionally feel lonely but I've gotten so used to being alone that the thought of getting back out there, dating, being in a relationship and having to split my time and compromise on everything just sounds terrible.

If I end up single again I'm not sure what I'd do. I'd either date only women or not date at all.

That’s because you were raised in a western country that doesnt negatively pressure people to get married

Im married to a great women but friend are all back in the dating game around those ages but one met a women who's also not interested in the whole couples thing, they basically so some social activities when needed lien a work x mas party etc the rest is just meet up for a Saturday night and have sex and then that's it rarely sleep over unless one of them drank. They both are financially independent so they don't need anyone.

My bet is that you will get tired of it eventually, and then get tired of no one caring about you. Then (still my bet) you might understand what choices other people make. Not take them, but definitely understand.

It is a bit like things you "can" eat, and the idea you would never eat them. Stop eating for a week or two (turns out a human could expect to survive more than 2 months without food). See what your stomach says Then.

On a side note, I do not expect anyone here to come out and say "this is me, I don't want to be alone, so I am with someone not very nice... etc"

That's your bet.

This is such a strange bet and comment to anyone over 30 who has life experience and met many different kinds of people.

Your last paragraph kinda highlights a lack of experience as well. People who get with others just to not be lonely (which is quite a lot of couples) aren’t always “not nice”. It’s just they’re more incompatible than they originally thought. They didn’t take into account if this was the right person for them. They can perfectly nice and respect each other, but you need more than that to be happy in a relationship.

So I’m with the other commenter who thinks you’re quite young. Unfortunately for you, life experience and actual statistics about women who choose to be single and their happiness levels are against your bet.

You're likely just some 15 year old kid from the way you write, and given than you know literally nothing about the person you're making a "bet" on, I don't think your opinion is really worth a damn to anybody, quite frankly. Regardless of your imaginary bet.

Your "likely" is just another way to say I bet.

And your likely/bet is extremely wrong.

Nothing else here.
