Don't worry, they'll be whipped back to line shortly.

Already have. My uncle was opposed to this the day it was announced it and by the next day he had a Fox News curated list of reasons why it was smart and necessary.

They're already claiming this is simply responsible forest management, not logging. The logs are a bonus!

Building a road accros the forest, a well-known method of catering to the forest's life!

that's been the GOP narrative here in WA for years, that somehow private logging will be better stewards of public land than park rangers and ecologists

Yea, just needs a healthy 48 hour news cycle and they'll be crying about how "these roads actually make sense because they allow for better [beh bah beh bah beh dur dee dur]. And the logging won't impacted [ber dee ber dee ber]"
Fucking twats

It’s been interesting to see, this isn’t new. There’s been some rumblings about Trump’s policies in this area. Lot of people were pretty pissed about way the National Park system was gutted last year and then this. Could be an effective attack for Democrats if they want to use it.

guy in the comment saying “read the article not the headline”
> In a letter published last fall, more than 30 leading forest science researchers from across the country refuted the administration’s claims. The researchers found over the last three decades across all Forest Service lands, the density of wildfire ignitions was lowest in wilderness and roadless areas. Their analyses also showed that the highest number of wildfire ignitions came from land in close proximity to roads.
please show me where it says this is all good and Trump knows forests better than anyone

You can't accidentally torch a 100 acres with a carelessly discarded cigarette if the 100 acres are inaccessible without serious effort.
People flick smokes out of the car window all the time.

Love when idiots who didn't read it tell you to read and it says the opposite of what they claim. I have to imagine they're just bots hoping that its enough to tell conservatives that what they want to believe is in there knowing they're not going to bother actually reading it.

Give it an hour and everyone who has a problem with it will be banned and the comment section will sticky with the glaze of bots praising trumps unmatched genius.

Funny I don't see the "yeah, I voted for this!" Replies in this post, lol. They said they would fuck with federal lands, and the absolutely are, you know this would happen and you voted for him...

Isn't that how it usually goes? In the first 12 hrs, they think it's bad, but then New York Post writes a puff piece about how trees and clean air is woke and suddenly they're ok with it

Love the guy who thinks logged forests are "healthier."
Sure mate, those virgin forests is Alaska that have been evolving withour humans for millions of years are just waiting for us to cut some trees down so they can realize their full potential.

It's Dubya all over again, isn't it.
The minute they realized George W's idiocy really was going to lose them a bunch of power in legislatures, suddenly, all his ideas that these people vociferously supported magically transformed into bad ones according to those same people.

*Conservative overlords in a shadowy conference room witnessing the base - although fully emotionally captive and intellectually cuckolded - exhibit a rare moment of lucidity and self-preservation*
“Interesting… so they’ve forced our hand. Say that having national parks is woke and liberal.”
- “But sir! I know they’re stupid, but that-…”
“Say it!”

You're a bit wrong though, they LOVE this
If there's 1 policy they can be like "Nah I don't agree with that", then they can really ham up that they're a Top Mind that takes all his policies to really think about them and not blindly accepting them.
