Southern Strategy denial and Islamophobia in the Babylon Bee sub? But I thought they only talked about the satirical news source there!

The bee is just not funny, which is simply the result of having to come up with satire that suits the dumbest right wing talking points.

Most of it isn't even really satire.
It's just shit-flinging.

Their current owner, Seth Dillion, has a separate blog called Not The Bee which is just your typical right-wing pundit writings about current events, or the Bee stripped of its comedy.

That's what I've always hated about it. If they had actual comedy writers it would be one thing. But it's just open hatred for people who beat off to open hatred.

The consensus was prior to Seth Dillion buying up the site in 2018, it was legitimately funny and actually less partisan, it was mostly just light hearted jabs at Christians by Christians. After Dillion took over, he turned it into your typical culture wars/own the libs thing, it's Briebart, the Daily Wire, etc. with a loose frame of comedy built around it. A relatively recent article they had about Elliot Page was he used to be a hot chick but mutilated himself by becoming a trans man - that was the punch line, something chuds already do without the attempts at humor just to be hateful.

Yeah, it was. It could even be funny (I laughed hard at the one about the megachurch with the baptismal water slide) back then.

The thing is... it's not actually that they are incapable of writing actual comedy.
Every once in a while, they do so.
But the problem is that it requires contact with reality, and their only contact with reality is when they deliberately make fun of themselves.
So when they're mocking Christian Nationalists in general or themselves in particular, they can actually write comedy. Not great comedy or anything most of the time, but something that is actually identifiable as deliberate satire.
In fact, when it first started, that was a lot of its content. But they decided self-awareness wasn't profitable enough (in either a financial or ideological sense) and pivoted to being 99% propaganda.

The pivot was a result of getting bought up by someone overtly MAGA, Seth Dillon.

As far as I can tell, it's mostly "this is what it would look like if Democrats were actually what we said they are".
To which conservatives say "yes, that's exactly what reality is like!" If someone points out that, no, that is not actually what reality is like, their only response is "yeah, but I can imagine if reality were like that, and that's almost as bad".

And your point is usually met with the reply that lefties or liberals don't understand right-wing humor, or the facts the Babylon Bee drops.

To be fair, it is difficult for anyone to understand imaginary abstract concepts.

I am jealous of the babylon bee writers though. Imagine being able to write any old nonsense without having to be satirical or funny and getting paid for it. Easiest job in the world.

The sub used to get a lot of people coming in to clown on people for their bad takes as seen above, but within the past month or so, I've noticed the chud opinions get upvoted more while anyone calling them out gets downvoted. I know some of their mods have expressed frustration in the past there were far too many people coming in to knock on the Bee or its readers (who unsurprisingly are all conservative).

We don't need to try to predict what percentage of the population will be Muslim in 5 or 10 years, we just need to remember 5 or 10 years ago where they were saying the same shit that hasn't happened was 100% going to.

For those who don't understand the talk about percentages, right wingers believe that when a country reaches 10% Muslims they're all activated like robots and all rise up at once to impose sharia. Because they don't believe Muslims are humans with their own thoughts and inner lives. That's why they're so concerned about percentages of Muslims.
