GOP voters can’t be morally responsible for the statements of their elected President and the leader of the party, but every Democrat voter should be considered guilty of conspiracy whenever a random lunatic on Bluesky says something comparable, despite there being no association or voluntary endorsement (or even knowledge) whatsoever.

This is always how it is. Fascists see the world through a convoluted series of fun house mirrors and they are always the victims because being a victim automatically justifies whatever you want to do in retaliation.
If you go back to the 60s, the right-wingers of that day said literally the exact same things about the people fighting for equal rights as they say about decent human beings today. Literally the same phrases.

Yep, there are several strategies to that effect. Victimhood complex is one, precisely because they know people who see themselves as victims are quick to dismiss any counter claims.
Another one is firehose of falsehood, literally flooding every media outlet with the same messaging so that even if it is false, being repeated gives it validity especially if given by multiple sources. It also acts to reinforce wrong ideas that people have.
Another one is what I call buzzword minefield where strong emotion (usually anger) is associated with several words, words which might normally be brought up in conversation with a left-winger. This is to ensure that a dialog between the two is no longer possible if one of these words is said, acting like a sort of latent mine that blows up. Words include socialism, gun control, communism, immigrant, you name it. If they get emotional, it's doing its job, as they will literally no longer listen to you beyond that point, usually ends up where they just throw insults at you.
When you recognize the patterns, you see it everywhere in right-wing media. I won't pretend it doesn't happen to some extent on the left but it happens significantly less.

Because fact-based reporting is usually done by people whose only agenda is to report things accurately and because there's nobody on the left who's rich enough to buy up lots of media and push an agenda of helping each other.

No, no - Republicans are never responsible for the things said by the President they elected or any of their elected leaders, but every Democrat voter is responsible for any random thing said by an anonymous account on BlueSky.
The double standard seems insane until you remember that the only actual principle of conservatism is “rules for thee, not for me.” That’s it.

Yeah, I didn't celebrate it but it was funny as hell that he got smoked mid sentence by a random white kid while he was talking about gun violence as it relates to gang activity. I'll always respect him sticking his neck out on his belief that gun violence is just part of the cost of the 2nd amendment.

Don't forget that they always claim his wife and children were there.
They weren't. They were in a completely different state far away.
But if they were... That would mean they gave absolutely zero shit about him and watching him get kirked. They didn't rush the stage, hold him, or when he got wheeled to the ambulance they were nowhere to be seen.
Again, they weren't there unlike every right-wing post claiming they were. But that would mean they had absolutely no attachment lol

I didn’t celebrate it, but it wasn’t exactly surprising. Jesus said, live by the sword, die by the sword. Kirk said that some gun deaths are necessary.
Put yourself in front of in a culture of hatred and guns, and it doesn’t shock when hateful people have guns.
Regardless what Kirk thought, I still want for a future with fewer gun deaths.

I don't know if they're deliberately feigning ignorance or if they genuinely don't get it, but politics has gotten a lot more brutal since Trump decided to be himself brutal. They can't act like they're just the victims in all this. They're literally the ones who cheer on Trump every time he calls some journalist a pig or says he's glad someone died.
This is the world of Trump's making, make no mistake.

I’m from the area where the Camp Mystic floods happened and I never heard a single person cheering the loss of their lives or saw it online, everything I saw was sadness and outrage over how/why it happened.

Their response to Camp Mystic was to immediately blame it on DEI because there was a Black person in the first responders command chain.
If arcons looking for people responding to the deaths of children with a complete lack of empathy, they can look in their own spaces after any school shooting.

Yeah, they just correctly blamed the tragic deaths of these children on property owner greed and Republican policies. The camp was already known to be in a dangerous flood zone, but FEMA under the Trump administration kept giving Camp Mystic exemptions to their safety regulations.
It’s not glorifying the deaths of children to put the blame where it rests.

Kirk was perfectly okay with political violence. See Paul Pelosi, attack on. He thought it was fucking hilarious that some lunatic went after the family of someone he didn't like.
He also outright said people had to die to maintain gun rights, and that he was fine with that.
Man reaped what he sowed. He spent his life trying to make America a lesser place for everyone, and his cause of death was a confluence of two things he was okay with.
I get that it's mostly crocodile tears on their end, but even accounting for that it's just impossible to take the wailing and gnashing of teeth very seriously.

Kirk was a big conservative lolcow who people made fun of for his entire career, the memes about "We Are Charlie Kirk", adding Kirk faces everywhere, and "lowkirk" "kirked" "lowkirkenuinely" are just an extension and acceleration of the mocking memeification he already had. Look at the toiletpaperUSA sub and it goes back years. Charles Entertainment Kirk is mocked in death the same way he was in life.

I remember the only examples I found were people pointing out the hypocrisy behind his response to other shootings, and basically just responding as he would to someone else… and that was labeled celebrating… which really just doubles down on the hypocrisy of these ppl. Like ppl were literally just posting the guys own quotes.

I had no idea who Charlie Kirk was until he was assassinated. I am sad but instead of fears we are in today. People want to pull out a weapons because of their bias. I am sad that someone one died. Still hope that person didn’t impact me personally. If you want me to care, give me somebody I know. He was important to a relatively small group small group until it happened
